Stripes....as some of you know, I'm taking delivery of my 2017 2LT Grand Sport tomorrow. It's Admiral Blue with Jet Black interior. I've already purchased a Torch Red center console arm rest, red GS front mats and rear cargo mat and I plan to purchase red seat belts soon. I may also install red seat covers if I can find quality leather versions that don't look cheesy. And yes, I probably should have special ordered AB / AR but I didn't want to wait.

I'll post pics after I install everything tomorrow.

The next step will be exterior stripes. I know I'll probably open up a can of worms by asking this, but I'd like some suggestions (and pictures if you have them) for types and colors of stripes that will complement Admiral Blue, keeping in mind my red theme in the interior. I'm considering the following choices:

- Red Hash marks on the fenders and nothing down the middle, or....
- Red Hash marks and a full length solid white stripe like the one featured at the Museum when the GS was announced. (My favorite)
- Red Hash marks and a full length solid torch red stripe...or
- Red Hash marks and a full length dual racing torch red stripe (my wife's favorite)...or
- Red Hash marks and a full length dual racing black stripe since the car also has black wheels.

IMO car looks much better with both stripe and hash than just hash.

For the seats there is a forum dealer that sells kits to change your seat color, you could buy the AR seat kit from them to get factory red seats. AR looks really good with AB, I have no idea why it is a color override option.

 

I agree, and that's why the 2nd photo is my personal favorite. Do you know which forum member it is that sells the seat kits?

 

I didn't get many responses so I discussed it with my wife one more time and we've decided to go with the solid GS Torch Red stripe down the middle and maybe add the torch red hash marks at a later date. I'll probably order the stripes from www.vettestripes.com and have my local tint shop tint the windows and do the stripes at the same time.

 

Stripes don't appear to be very popular on the forum, most seem to prefer a more conservative look for their rides.

But to me the car almost looks naked w/o them.

 

I agree, and I don't want it to look like a "boy racer" kind of car but I think stripes look good on certain colors like Arctic White and Admiral Blue as long as they are subtle.

 

You might not like mine then it is anything but subtle.

 

Black looks great on the Yellow car. Those are the stripes I'm considering but in Torch Red on the Admiral Blue car. Thanks.

I would go with the hash + stripes as shown in the pic posted in post #2.

 

I went with Admiral Blue with both hash & stripe. I wouldn't have it any other way. In fact if it weren't for this combination, I'd still be driving my C6. But to each his own.

 

I like stripes. Here is what I ordered... being produced this week.

 

I won't be picking her up from the museum until May 5th so I have no pictures. I went with Corvette Racing yellow Z06 with dual carbon flash racing stripes. I am in my 40's so no young racing boy owner here but I wanted her to stand out and be different. To me the stripes make even more of a statement and gives her more of a look at me bad *** look.

 

Also ordered a Yellow Z with full carbon stripes. TPW is 4/17. So sounds like both our cars will be born twins. I should have done the museum, but driving back to Colorado would have been a loooong trip...

 

My second favorite color and stripes and hash marks look great with this color!

 

I have an AW and felt compelled to add the Jake stinger. I just need to paint the rear spoiler that carbon flash metallic black to complete the look.

Mine did look a bit plain when I got it so I tend to agree. But there is also "too much" so it's a fine line in my opinion.

 

I ordered Admiral Blue with the White GS stripe and Torch Red hash marks, just like second pic in the first reply. I pick it up on Thursday!

You know the sad thing is, is so many C7 owners cars look alike.... They can make all kinds a vinyl strips but everyone gets the same old things. Think outside the box.... I personally think cars should never have stickers on the paint "vinyl" but to each their own. I looked at my C7 and took what I thought were the highlights of the body lines and designed stripes that made them stand out... I do paint, not stickers...

 

Now that's pretty cool that two almost identical twins will be there at the same time. Did you go with the yellow calipers and black rims?
