From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

Apparently carbon discs have been standard issue on Ferraris for nearly a decade. When I asked the salesman about the cost of a brake job, he said that if you didn't run the car on the track Ferrari would guarantee them for the life of the car for the original owner.

The Ferrari looks cooler than all of the Corvette models and you will need a Z06 to run with it.

Corvette is one heck of a car but not to be confused with a Ferrari.

All I know is that when I saw the first side-shot of the C7 Corvette, I said out loud that it looked VERY similar to the F12 Berlinetta.

I actually spent the day yesterday at the exotic car show in Celebration FL in which the majority of the cars on display were Ferraris. As much as I love the 488GTB and F12, but have to say, I was more than happy to jump in the GS when heading out.

Hey Jesse - I agree!! I think our Vettes are great cars!!

You should have come out to the track Thurs or Fri to see the action out there!! The CECF (Celebration Exotic Car Festival) and FCA (Ferrari Club of America) had the track event for the show at Daytona Int'l Speedway, and there were a HUGE number of BEAUTIFUL exotics running the track!!

Linda and I went all through the NASCAR garages looking at all the gorgeous cars - many Ferraris, but some other fantastic exotics as well. There were Ferraris from back in the early 1960's up through the beautiful current ones.

Butt....on the track the C7 held its own!!! I passed dozens of Ferraris over the two days on the track. I think I was passed by maybe two Ferraris (fully track prepped all-out race cars), a couple of Vipers, and a DP car - otherwise the C7 was doing the passing!!

The video below was clipped from a 25 minute session. Earlier in the session I passed a few cars, so there aren't many in this particular clip. Early on I pass a Porsche, then an exotic (I think a Maserati), then I'm passed by a Viper and we both go by a Ferrari. Then I chase the Viper around until the very end of this clip where we start to lap the field and come up on all the Ferraris - the very end I'm coming up on one of the Ferraris.

Bottom line - the Ferraris and other exotics are fantastic, but I think the Vette looks good, and it certainly holds its own on the track!! And it's a helluva lot cheaper to buy, and especially to maintain!!!

Bob

Thanks, it is pretty thrilling. Different than the Corvettes. Maybe its the whole Mid-Engine being further Forward...???
I love my Rumble from my Corvette V8s. But the Screaming Exhaust on the Ferrari is pretty satisfying.

Bob, great to hear from you again. Still need to get over that way. Love the video as always. Still remember a 175mph run with you in the old Z on Daytona- won't ever forget that! Your car looks fantastic with those cups too! Maggie and I are headed to Spring Mountain june 9-10 for my first track experience if you hadn't seen on other threads I've posted on. Can't wait and look forward to some track days with you in the fall. Really want to drive Daytona in my car asap. You never fail to inspire. Hope we can get together soon.

The F12 is a beautiful car, no doubt. But the $90K C7 Z06 still beats the $320K F12 on courses like the Nurbingring.

I traded my 2013 427 convertible for a 2007 F430 after my knee went out. I had the F430 for two years. Fun car but getting it serviced locally was difficult. I traded it for a 2016 Jaguar F Type R convertible 2/16 and then bought a 2017 Z06 coupe 10/16. I miss the allure of the Ferrari but not the upkeep.
