and as for being a fanatic... sometimes I will pull off the road to use it near wheel wells and on front fender....where dirt seems to accumulate.

I don't really buy into micro fiber clothes are the end all and that they somehow miraculously lift the dirt but won't scratch the finish. She just turned a year old this week and the finish is like new. I would hate to start using the detailer spray regularly and find out down the road that I was slowly hurting the finish. So my question is when is reasonable to use and when is it not?
Regular type detail sprays aren't made to be used when the car has dust, etc on the paint. You would need a waterless wash product for that. Then jump on it with the detail spray if you like.

Crystal Mist is great. However, there is a new chief in town. Kenotek Showroom Shine.

Check it out. The guys over at Detailers Domain - this is their new go to, and if you go around several car forums people are loving it. Has anti-static properties in it which keeps dust off longer and it gives the same shine as it adds a polymer layer like the Crystal Mist and the others like Lucas Slick Mist.

Ok, so my assumptions are correct. Detail sprays aren't meant to be used for a quick clean up between washes. You guys use them after washings to enhance the shine. I use a Nanoskin fine grade wash mitt about 3-4 times a year then apply Blackfire crystal seal afterwards. I love the results, fast and easy. I suppose the shine wears off slowly if washing carefully and could probably use some enhancing after a while until I repeat the treatment. I'm at that point now so I will give it a try after my next washing. This is her today. I've probably washed her about 8 times since the last Blackfire application.

My car is not a daily driver and stays in a garage when not in use. I wash it when it's dirty, but detailer is all I put on it. Enough is enough.
