Is there a chart anywhere that not only compares the differences in years of C7, but the differences in trims for each of those years? For example. How does a 14 3LT compare to a 17 base.
I am sure someone will correct me but the major changes between 14 and 17 base cars are the newer cars have a flat bottom steering wheel, and Apple CarPlay/Android Audio and the 8 speed auto came out in 2015. Aside from some different colors options each year between 2014-2017 there are no other major exterior changes. I am sure Chevy has made some small improvements along the way as problems have been identified.
In terms of trim levels, I don't think a there were any significant changes. Very similar option choices.
Ok. That helps. I've been looking at several options lately, and wonder if a lower trim newer vehicle is the way to go vs a higher trim that's 2-3 years old. I know I would have to consider warranty as well, but over all value. I am thinking a used higher trim vehicle may be a better value. Of course the consideration is also there regarding whether or not the car was cared for or taken to the track every weekend.
^^^ Understand. I was going to buy a new 17 as well and then found a 2016 with 2K miles and was the right color and options. I saved almost 29% off MSRP while the same optioned car was going to be 15.5% off MSRP brand new (2017) from one of the forum dealers who had the best price.
Keep in mind you can get a Chevy extended warranty from an authorized online vendor and cover any concers you have.
But I get it. There is something about buying a brand new car and being the first owner. Just know these cars don't hold their value that great.

I have a 2014 Z51 3LT with a khalari interior. The top of the dashboard and the doors above the door armrests are covered in khalari leather. same for brownstone.
All other interior colors came with black dash tops and black trim above the door armrests.
as best as I can tell, starting in 2015 you got the black dashtop and black trim above the door armrests with khalari as well.
I think the dashtop and doors look much better in khalari than black.

just my opinion.
Had exactly the same, 2014, 3LT with Kalahari. I think it reverted to much more black dash in 2016. One reason I got a 2LT red interior in my Grand Sport. Funny, I have a red upper dash pad on order and looks like that will be in the red 2LT for 2018. Available for ~$320 on eBay.
Only missing NAV but found a great way to mount my Garmen that has free updates rather than pay GM the $1700 and high priced updates. A Forum member showed how to mount it in the dash cubby. It fits. When needed I just need to drop the screen! It plugs into the USB in the cubby with a short cord!
In 2014 the black micro suede upper interior trim was a $995 option available only with 3LT. Starting in 2015 it became standard with 3LT (with the appropriate price increase, of course).
In 2014 the performance exhaust (RPO NPP) was a $1,195 option on all Corvettes. Starting in 2015, it became standard on Z06s and Stingrays with Z51 and still optional on non-Z51 Stingrays.
The Stingray Premier Edition coupes and convertibles were available only in 2014.

I agree wholeheartedly!! I don't know why they did not continue covering "the full dash" and went to just the stripe on the passenger side. Full coverage looked much, much better.
Maybe in 2018 they will offer it again on a 3lt, without having to pay 3k for Spice red.......
