I'm getting the opinion that many posters just post to get their numbers up-or maybe many don't have much to do

I used to walk around on my C5. I realized this car isn't such a ***** after all and if the hood falls off, I'll tell Chevy their car has an issue and to fix it.

Doesn't anyone read the owners manual?

Seems pretty basic...

Don't ask my wife, I think I rupture my eardrums when she closes (slams) the doors...

I keep telling her...

I stopped closing my hood. Just let it down easy until it is resting on the latches and leave it that way. It looks like you have a bigger engine that way... with it sticking up. It also helps with air flow in the engine compartment. When you get going faster and the air builds up in there, the hood starts to raise to let the extra air out. This cuts down on wind resistance and makes it more aerodynamic. The bonus is if you ever get into a spin the hood will open and act as an air brake like they have in NASCAR. It's a win-win. You get all kinds of looks driving on the highway, it's way cool.

"Hooda" thunk the subject would have spawned 4 pages of debate?

I'm of the 12-18" and let 'er drop crowd.

And @ WhoIsPat: hold on to the metal latch loop on the inside of the door and let 'er swing. No fingerprints that way.

I don't like touching the paint, I don't like touching the interior handles also, therefore I just put it in launch mode and nail the gas, works on hood, doors and rear hatch

Those of us old enough to remember that method, are too old to use it.

Yes, this method works real well and wipes the figure prints off if you do it right
