I would say a lot of people don't.
Clear bra's maybe came into vogue 10 years ago, and I think it's a relatively new thing for a lot of people.
I think having a whole car wrapped like I do is quite rare.
Cost is the main reason, and it really being only justifiable if you like driving your car a lot (I do) and you know that the roads around you are garbage (for me they are). So it's a type of insurance.
I also have my car OptiCoated. Which helps significantly with edge dirt buildup.
All of my future cars, which I decide to buy not lease (so keeping 3+ years), I will XPEL and Opticoat. My experience with the C7 has been excellent in that regard.

Look, I came very close to getting Xpel but after talking to a couple of friends with white cars ,that had it done, they talked me out of it. It's a personal choice and I'm sure it's great stuff but their experiences changed my mind. Every time I mention this I get a mountain of critics but it's just my opinion & decision. Just saying.

Melting Slicks
Didn't do it on our '15 and, after several road trips and 10k miles, had a few chips on the bumper and a mirror. Touched them up, but I could still see them (DSOM - tough color to touch up). Our GS is in the shop yesterday/today having xpel ultimate put on the front bumper, headlights, splitter and skirts. $800. We'll see...............

I notice a lot of guys put plastic wrap film on their cars like Xpel Etc. Do a lot of you guys still don't put any film on your new C7'S. Maybe some one could make a poll for me as yes use film or No I don't use film. I don't know how to set up a poll I have owned several used and new Corvettes but have never had film installed or had one with film on it already. Thanks Dave

Initially I was not going to bother with the paint protection film on my C7 GS as I have over 100k miles on my C6 coupe and never really had any major issues with paint chips. Yes, there are a few, but I always just considered them battle scars LOL
On my C7 GS I added the ACS front guards and sideskirts to protect from stones thrown up by the front wheels and I figured I was good.
After last years driving season was done (about 5k miles), I was cleaning up my car over the winter, as I always do, and noticed a few decent chips on the front bumper, the sideskirts and the lower rear fender (brake duct area) On top of that I noticed I had bumped into my sideskirts quite a few times already getting in and out of the car...
So I caved in, and reluctantly added some of the film, but instead of going crazy I just went with what I thought was the absolute minimum (and reasonable in cost)...
I did the skirts and rear fender area myself (about $100)
I had just the front bumper done at a shop (after I removed the flags to have less visible lines (about $460)
This is worth it to me, and at that cost i don't mind redoing it every few years if the edges get dirty, or the film starts discoloring

A poll might have a built in bias since more enthusiasts tend to participate in forums and enthusiasts probably are more apt to get their car wrapped. Just my opinion.

Hi Dave,
I am a big fan of the "invisible bra" and have had it put on the last 5 Corvettes I have owned. I think it is well worth the price...definitely cheaper than having the nose repainted every year or so. They have perfected this product immensely. By the way, Dave, I bought a brand new 2016 Z06 (orange, of course!) last June. Had the bra put on at 88 miles!
Miss seeing you, my friend.

Well my car is being delivered in first week of June and I am using Xpel Ultimate on the entire hood, front end, front fenders, mirrors ,headlights, door handle area.$1495 total which sounds cheap compared to what I paid for the car. So my vote will be YES!

Pulled the film off my car (white) after a month.
Didn't like the way it looked..
Turned the bright white panels off white/cream.
Even on dark color cars, paint pops more without it.
If you don't drive with your nose up someones ***, there's probably not too much to fret over chips, etc..

Yes I had Xpel Ultimate full wrap (minus rear hatch and rear end). Absolutely love it I only have 2000 miles on her and it has saved my butt several times... Personally I recommend it Only if you live in a high chance rock chip area. I DO!!! Every car I have had has gotten chipped within the first week. No more...

Xpel
Just did mine today. Front end all around up to hood louvers, door handle pockets, outside mirrors & door edges. Have it on 4 cars currently and they all look great. Ounce of prevention....on the high risk areas only.

Burning Brakes
Nope- total waste of money unless you live an area with dirt/gravel roads
Can look horrible on a white car as it ages and yellows
No need for it in San Diego- my 10+ year old Cadillac XLR with 95k miles (about the same ride height as C7) had zero road chips/road rash when I sold it

I was under the impression that the film was less visible on a white car. Apparently I got some bad information. Scheduled to have Suntek installed on the front bumper 5-22. Now having second thoughts..
