Anyone ever found a tactful way in? I was reading up on this year's dates. Thought about going but didn't realize it's not open to the public.

The hotel I stay in for work when in Vegas is across from the convention center. Easy walk. The hotel bartender said sometimes people have left their lanyards behind and people have gotten in that way.

I've been 3 times, and I've never been able to get any non-industry people in with me.

I highly doubt an attendee is going to gift your their creds/lanyard

If you are mostly interested in the cars, you can see a lot of cars in front of the convention center and lobby areas without any credentials. If you go Friday afternoon, all the cars in the convention center are started up and driven in front of the Convention Center like a parade. It's impressive, and a must see. Again, no credentials needed for that.

Thunder: I wouldn't expect anyone to say "here ya go buddy". The bartender made it soun like they just leave them in the rooms when they leave (if they aren't there for the full event)

Just trying to gauge the actual chances of getting in IF I managed to find an abandoned ID. I don't wanna look like an idiot trying to get in. LOL

I will definitely check out the "parade" if I'm there on the right day and time.

You're chances of getting in are pretty much 100% if you have a badge and holder. I've never seen them check badge names, only that you have one when you walk into the buildings. My wife didn't realize her badge was turned around last year and they simply asked her to twirl it around.

As mentioned, you can attend Sema Ignited. Fortunately I work part time in the industry and that satisfied their requirements!

Understood... some drunk always leaves something behind

You could pull a Mission Impossible and get some stripper to lift one from an attendee during a lap dance

Find someone that is going and ask them to register you as their significant other. Might be kind of weird but I would imagine it would work. I have done that the past few years with my girlfriend and they have never said anything about it.
