I don't know if you are having the same issue I had--there seems to be several reasons the targa top could "squeak". But FWIW:

I had mine repaired at a dealer and it is silent now.

I would not use any petroleum product on weather seal. Just to be safe. I use die electrical grease.

I have a 2014 with 5K miles on it and took it to a dealer for the pin replacement job. Got the car back but no better. Looked at the new top pins and they were the same dark grey as the old ones? I thought the new replacement pins were white Teflon. The dealer also removed the tapered rubber washers from the pins saying that the new pins did not use the washers?

Does anyone have a similar experience with the top pin replacement procedure?

Thanks.

!st check the gap between the hook and loop on rear latch ( should only be about 3/8 " otherwise the hook needs to be turned 1-2 times to reduce that gap !!! If it still creaks ( have someone with when driving car stick their fingers on each side of the rear and front pins to see if that silences that problem and do what I did was to add washers of some type ( foam or rubber about the the size of a quarter !!! Eventually I even added half rubber washers and wedge them between the other washers !!! By the way I already did the so call roof kit done by the dealer --grease ---" O " rings ,etc !!! Wayne
