Had Nav on my 2015 Stingray. Went without on my 2016 Z06.
Other than the display on the HUD, as well as the displayed speed limit with the factory system, I don't miss it with the Apple Carplay. If I was looking at a non-Carplay vehichle, I would want the Nav, as I do prefer viewing on the in-dash display.
I'm a 1LT guy and have no regrets at not having GM nav but I wouldn't be without a Garmin in the Vette. As far as I know, unless you're paying for a hotspot in your car, phone nav still relies on cell phone carrier systems which have incomplete coverage areas. You can't find a trailhead on the Big Sur coastline with Google Maps on your phone. A gas station in the middle of nowhere New Mexico? Maybe yes, maybe no. GM nav or Garmin are satellite based and will take you pretty much anywhere. By the way, I have GM nav in my Colorado and the Garmin is better, imo. Cell phone is OK in town if the small screen doesn't bug you.

It's much easier today now that you can use your i-phone or android phone and project it up onto the car's 8" screen. I have the factory nav, mostly it's great, occasionally it blows, the traffic alerts that it provides have been a huge time-saver on a couple of occasions and I have only owned the car for 6 months. I like it a lot, but it's not the end of days if you don't have it either.
Also ordered without nav and added the nav HMI module later for less than $800. I rarealy navigate with it, but it's kinda nice to have a bird's eye view of streets around you.
I probably use the weather app more than the nav. I like seeing weather radar, but it was a bitch trying to convince the XM radio lady that it could be enabled on my originally non factory nav car. This is also the reason why I'm hesitant to take the car in for any reprogramming. It will probably come back non nav, or the dealer tech will brick the HMI.

Yeah, this is the only downside of adding it yourself. When I took mine in for the Android Auto update, it bricked the HMI module. I contacted the eBay vendor and he told me to send it back for a re-flashing and it works fine now.

Yes I regret not getting the nav even though I have the projection feature for the I phone ... But I'm fixing to install a infotainment GPS nav and ant in my c7 ...
I ordered my car (1LT) w/ nav and rarely ever use it unless I'm outside my normal driving area (not very often) and am looking for something specific (and then I generally go "seat of the pants" first and if I fail, then revert to the navigation).
If I were doing it again, I'd probably save the money unless it came standard or in a package I was ordering for some other option.
The issue with the original question by the poster is that it asks owners who didn't order it because they were going to use other devices for navigation, or they don't need a navigation device. Therefore there are going to be no regrets.
Do Apple maps have live traffic rerouting like Google maps does?
Yes it does live traffic and alternate routes now. Googlemaps is still better in my opinion, but Apple Maps has come a long way since it was introduced. Twice now Googlemaps could not find a destination I plugged in and Apple Maps found it.

My C6 was an 2LT and I got the C7 as an 1LT because all of that extra stuff is wasted money IMHO. Need nav? Buy a map, use the phone (Android Auto works well) or do it through On-Star. Although I used the latter once and it sent me on a wild detour, so never again...
Almost 6K miles now and I pushed the Nav icon maybe 5 times. Never plugged an address in and never used it though. I really would like to see a sharper & larger display in there for the C8.
