Default 2014 Z51 and over-heating problem

Can someone offer me suggestions or what direction to go with regards to my '14 Z51 A6? It overheated on me during a hot Chicago day in stop and go traffic and took it to my local Chevy Dealership. They said it has a bad water pump and is covered by warranty. The problem is there are no water pumps any where in the US in any dealerships inventory. NO WHERE! I just keep getting the same 'sorry, no updates today but I am calling my GM rep to find out for you.' answers from the dealership.

Is there a place at the Bowling Green factory I could call to complain? Is there anything I can do besides wait?

There is another long thread about the same issue. Read it and weep. Sorry. Good luck.

Thank you but no luck with ECS.

I contacted GM's World HQ in Michigan and they opened up a file (whatever that means) and I'm supposed to have a GM District Rep call me within 48 hours.

Cross my fingers.

OMG! I could only read the first half of his rant before crying.

You should ask why they need the ENTIRE water pump housing and everything. You can buy water pumps all day long on RockAuto.com but it's just the center section with the impeller. So I'm curious as to why that's not all you need...

Thank you for the heads-up

Not really sure either. The service manager originally said just the housing and later came back with this part. It threw a code and it is a warranty replacement so I dont know if that has anything to do with it.

If you don't have a blower on your car maybe a 2015 water pump will work on the car. ECS did pay are put the 2014 water pump on the 2015 cars with the ECS blowers. That way didn't have to make a diff bracket for the 2015 due to the diffs in the 2015 water pump.

So all are the most you mat have to do is buy a diff hose for the car. Are you can get your stock water pump rebuild. I hope the above web site help you out man tomorrow. Robert
