Default Dupli-color custom wrap

Anyone ever heard of this and has anyone every tried it. Dupli-color custom wrap? Wonder what it would do to your paint after staying on for a while in this heat in Texas. If you have tried it let me know about it. Thanks syswayne

Could not be more confused by this post. Did some research and I think I found what the Op was asking.
Dupli-color idiots decided to confuse everybody by naming their latest canned tool handle coating (plastidip) "custom wrap".

Hey everybody! I got a new brand of gasoline. It's called diesel fuel.

Reminds me of "Pet Chow" brand rat poison

To answer the OP's question; no. Never tried that particular brand (fake) spray paint. But I've used several other brands on many different surfaces. It works great and is an excellent option. If you're doing an entire car, I wouldn't bother with the aerosol stuff. And if you care about how your car looks, I wouldn't bother with the Dupli-Color stuff.

^^^ Why would you say that? You said you hadn't tried it. I have used plastidip and Duplicate-Color, and they both serve they're purpose and work quite well. To call someone an idiot because you have an opinion based on nothing doesn't add to the post.

Duplicolor wrap and plastidip are just competing brands. If you google it, there are lots of comparisons.

Um. I clarified what the OP was talking about and even added a picture so the rest of us have any clue as to what he's talking about. Then answered his question. I think I added a lot actually. So you haven't used it either then?? haha. You disagree with me (your misinterpretation of what I'm saying) so I guess you should attack me! Yeah! That adds a lot to the conversation!
I called the clowns at Dupli-Color idiots because they are trying to call spray paint a "wrap". Which it is not.. Do you work for them or something? Did you read my post?? I'm about to call someone an idiot here now.
I have painted a lot of things with a lot of different types of paint over the decades and I'm telling you that Dupli-Color isn't the best. Not even the best of the cheap ones. Look into it. Read some reviews, it's not a secret. Just not a fan of cheap paint. I guess if you're painting a lawnmower or something you don't care about the finish, it's great! Why not just use Performix brand? You know, the real plasti dip.

Great reply

I'm going to side with LoganEx here. I've never heard of Dupli-Color. The fact that he did the research and provided a picture was helpful. His comment regarding the confusing nature of describing their product as a wrap is accurate, and while communication through online forums can certainly be misunderstood, I thought it was pretty clear that the idiot comment was referencing Dupli-Color, not the OP.

He then gave his opinion on Dupli-Color as a plastidip product. Opinions that the OP solicited. Not sure where the animosity is coming from.

If you're going to get the car dipped, don't use dupli-color. anything from a rattle can will look horrendous. get it profesisonally done w/ plasti-dip. i used a chameleon pearl with a satin finish. was $1300 even with the expensive chameleon pearls. more basic colors are like $800.

I had this on my car in florida for 2 years, it peeled off extremely easy. the main key is having the installer do a lot of coats so its thick. when it peels off it feels like a deflated balloon. took about an hour to peel the entire car back to stock paint. it actually protects the paint while its on, so its a win win. many people will do matte clear or gloss clear as a cheaper alternative to a full-car clear bra.

my old top-mount, single turbo g37 below.

I did say I had used both. It's great for blacking out emblems or wheels or if you want to know what something will look like be for spending the money to have it painted. No I don't work for them. I don't know why you would call them idiots. I don't know if you would paint a whole car with a rattle-can but I wouldn't. Autoflex sells their brand in gallons like paint. You can find it on the web. They claim it holds up well. They also sell it in clear to use like clear bra. People and companies that come up with new products are not idiots. Some products are good some not so good, but that doesn't mean they are idiots.

Use the Duplicolor stuff on my poverty splitter after it got smoked by a retread. I usually say "plastidip" in threads about it to avoid confusion, but I'm really using Duplicolor's product. Works fine for covering the splitter, and is somewhat forgiving for people like me who suck at spray cans.

Seems to hold up against bugs and rocks ok. Also used it to black out the chrome retainer in a spare grill, but I have yet to install that grill. Looks great sitting on my office floor though...

I have been on the forum since 2009, and it has been great. But I have never seen so many rude remarks on a forum. If you can't say something nice, why post anything. Sorry I started a post, I will not post again. Just read them.

Again.... Referring to duplicolor calling their bo bo brand plasti dip "custom wrap". (Which it isn't) How are you still confused by this?! NOT saying semi-perm paint is dumb or anything negative about it at all. Used it many-a-time with great results. Notice those are all PROFESSIONAL plasti dip jobs. Yes, that's the same exact thing as duplicolor spray paint "wrap". Work on your reading comprehension.

At least drs gets it..

Is the OP all mad now?! Maybe stay off the internet if your little feelings get hurt because I said the name of a product is dumb. Hahahaha

This is comical. Dude giving his life story over nothing. Another dupli-color employee over here ^^. "NOBODY IS RUDE TO MY BRAND!!" You sound like you're still confused. YOU aren't dupli-color. Are you???
If you're that confused or easily startled, yeah, don't post. Just avoid the internet and people in general. I get the feeling you can't handle the confusion your brain created.

It's what people in the know call (air quote)personal opinion(air quote). You will find, if you ask around, that many people in the world have it, perhaps all of them! And quite strangely, what others think has no bearing on what you think. Baffling, I know..
