On the vette i have a new smaller white one in a suction cup holder high on the windshield behind the mirror. But i'm going to move it or color it black, it looks like crap from the outside.
I like your idea's.I just called ezpass.Asked if a new transponder can be hidden? No,Must go on windshields. So,Painting it Black and putting a Big #3 On it...HA

don't use paint just put a sheet of black paper or some vinyl on it or black painters tape. If you damage the transponder (do they consider painting it damage?) they can charge you for the transponder when/if you return it.
Yes, as I originally said, a plate has to be registered w/ an EZPass account or else you get the big fine you did. You can't just take your transponder w/ you in any vehicle. That's a good theft preventer, and I'm glad they do it that way, otherwise, windows would be smashed just to grab those transponders.
I learned that years ago, when I sold a vehicle to my brother in NJ, left my MD plates on it for him to get home, and he used his EZPass on the NJ Turnpike, without telling me.
Thats not true in PA I have used my ezpass issued by the PA Turnpike in other cars all the time...even in rentals works fine no issues
Living in North Carolina I only have to use mine when traveling. I just hold up to the windshield when needed, and it does fine. I don't know what I would do if I had to use the thing everyday.
Have a 17 GS Vert, works great stuck to the inside top of the trunk lid.
I'm in good ol' IL. On the I-pass website, you can enter your license plate number and it will suffice. I do this with more than one car. I never carry my I-pass.
We're talking two different things here. Yes, if your plate is registered to an active account and transponder, you can get away without having the transponder read or in the car, and that always works everywhere as far as I know.
The other active topic is can you use your transponder in another car (e.g. rental car) without the plate registered to that transponder? Someone above said it's OK in PA, but it's sure as hell not OK in other places.

yes, and I said I have a license plate bolt on device, which only comes in black, hence, I haven't had a white ezpass device in years. Don't care what other people do.
What I said back then:
" Same here. I haven't had a white ezpass tag in years. you can call ezpass and ask for the license plate mount"
Went to the dollar store, got some flat black spray paint and sprayed the NY ezpass for my C7 and my daily driver. Works great and is almost invisible,,so much so that my wife asked me to do her pass.
I also updated to the newer smaller size before doing the paint job,,,,Mounted mine to the right of rear view mirror (passenger side) and I can barely see it while driving.
yes, in Illinois you don't need to use your iPas all the time. They apply the charge to the license plate. But they don't want you to do it all the time so you need to use It periodically. That's a great idea putting it behind the screen and I'll try it and other places suggested. Thanks for all the ideas!!

you missed the point. My Ipass can be picked up by the sensors while still behind the screen.
