Default Is Black Exterior/ Spice Red Interior available for 2018?

In looking at several of the 2018 availability combinations one of the listings showed the Black/Spice available, two others did not. Would this need to be a color override RPO? A GM regional rep indicated they need five orders for the specific override before they will build the cars. Does anyone have additional information on this? Thanks!

Only 3LT has that option....so I'm assuming the two that didn't were 1LT and 2LT models?

Even though Spice Red is no longer a package for 2018 and is simply a 3LT/3LZ option, I believe it is still restricted to Long Beach Red, Arctic White, Blade Silver, and Waktins Glen Gray. I don't have any experience with the color over ride option, however these are the colors from last year that I believed carried over into 2018.

I just configured a Black with Spice Red 3LT on the Chevy site. It is available as far as I can tell.

Cool. Then you should be good to go without a color over ride. I thought if the GM-Chevrolet site configures the car, you can simply hand the order sheet to your local dealership to order the car.

The above photo captures exactly how totally boring "Spice Red" is in person. My opinion. I predict it will be the next interior that it is dropped for lack of interest in future model years.

If it gets dropped it won't be for lack of interest but rather because it's only available on 3LT/3LZ models. Most people buy 1LT and 2LT models. I personally think Spice Red interior is the best color yet, especially on a Black, LBR, White or Silver car. Just my opinion.

If I had to do it all over again I would get a LBR 3LT GS with Spice Red Interior. I don't think it's boring at all.

I don't think it is boring but you might be right about it being dropped. I thought my brownstone would have lasted much longer. As it is I have a first year LBR with a last year brownstone interior!

^^^^^ Shame they dropped brownstone. I think spice red would be sharp with black. Does the spice red still come with the motosports wheels?

For something so boring, you sure seem invested in letting everyone know at every available opportunity.

Spice Red is NOT a boring interior choice.

What I'm really saying is, don't order it if you haven't seen it in person.

I thought/hoped it would be a good alternative to Adrenaline Red since I wanted red but Adrenaline was way too bright for me. So GM went from over the top to drab. Luckily for me in 2016 they offered two tone black and adrenaline red and for me that turned out to be just right.

Just my two cents.

Thats a nice combo. Show some more pics of your vette so I can find something I think is boring and insult you. My opinion.

I'm going through the same debate as I prepare to order a 2018 Z06 once production begins again in November, unless there is some earth-shattering news that there will be significant enhancements to the 2019 Z06 based on the 2018 or 2019 ZR1 release.

Anyway, I don't think the picture above really captures the color of Spice Red. I've seen it in person, however I've only seen it matched up with the Long Beach Red exterior, and to my eyes, the reds clash and the Spice Red looks like tomato soup in comparison.

However, I was able to find some nice shots of the Spice Red matched up with Arctic White, which is the combo I'm strongly considering. I think the combo looks better when the red isn't matched up to another red. Below are some pics:

I also like your two-tone Black/Adrenaline Red combo as well. I really like the Competition Seats, however I don't like that I lose 50% of the Nappa leather I pay for with the 3LZ trim if I choose the Competition Seats as those are finished with the Mulan leather. If I go with the GT seats, I will probably choose the Black/Adrenalin Red combo. If I choose the competition seats, I will probably go with the Spice Red.

Walt, that is exactly the same two tone option I put in our new AW 2018 for the same reason and love it.
When I ordered our 2015 AW the two tone was not available and I ordered the adrenaline red. After I put the order in I called the dealer back and changed the interior color to black
Back in July of 2014 when we ordered our 2015 there were no cars to look at to really see what the colors looked like in person. Since then I have seen some AW Vettes with the adrenaline red interior and I do think they look quite nice, not as loud to my eye as what the pictures seem to show. However, at the end of the day the 2018 was available in the adrenaline red with black two tone option which I really like......btw nice wheels on your machine, I like 'em a lot.....happy motoring, Doug.

PS, for 2018 they also made the eyebrow area of the 2LT in red but all the rest of the dash is in black

OP, if you could get the spice red interior with the black exterior I think that would be really sharp.....and unique......would not see many cars like that

When I'm done buying go fast parts, I'll be re-doing my interior with Spice Red. Someone on the board here did his Black Z06 that way too.
