The seats when functional sometimes don't FEEL functional. Especially on abusively hot days, when you are sweaty, when the seats are ALREADY hot, when the motor runs a long time (it gets hot its self).

Being fatter doesn't help (I'm no svelte man myself). I almost never have a passenger, so sometimes I turn that one on as a barometer to see how the day is going. Some days they are nice and super cold, others useless.

Meh, it's better than having nothing, I say.

My Z06 does the 'intense' start and quick fade like the others have said here. I constantly cycle it on and off to keep the fan active. My first Stingray had the option as well and those blew amazing and I would have to turn them off after a while because it made my backside too cool (seriously), so I know my current car is not working properly.

^^Exactly. That is how I feel to. The previous C7 felt stronger.

Based on my own experience and the posts here, my guess is that the system has been reprogrammed on the newer cars to turn the fan down or off after a short while. Or a whole lot of cars have been produced with the same defect in the system.

So I would say that you current car is not working properly, but it is working as designed. Bummer.

Our 2009 Owner Manual says exactly that about the seat heaters, but nothing about an automatic turn-down of the seat fans.

Major bummer if that is the case. BTW, both my cars were/are 2015s. If that is how they are designed or programmed it really sucks because after a few minutes you absolutely cannot tell they are even on. Maybe the auto turn down programming for the heat accidentally was put on the cooling fans as well?

My 16 does have the fan speed slow down after they have been on a while. Never timed the slow down. If I remember tomorrow I'll do the paper test.

Remember gm went cheap here....ventilated not ac. Most cars are actually ac. If you've never had this option it probably feels ok but if you've had ac this pales in comparison in Texas. They cut corners here but you should have air movement which is better then nothing. Drivers side would vibrate....took to dealer and ordered new part....easy fix just take it in.

I have taken it to the dealer (3) times now and the same response. If the switch is on fan is operable and blowing no tech says nothing is wrong. Went to a 17 Z hit the cool switch and you can tell the difference. My complain is not the temperature but the force of the air being recirculated. Going to call GM tech line.

GM referred me back to the dealer...Tech is supposed to call GM tech line and opened a case on the seats. Another member had his fixed with a new module, trying to get the tech to install a new one and talk to the Tech line. The module under the driver seat also includes memory. My driver seat if you set the bolster and shut the car off it will bleed off all the air in the seat. Still problems with seats will keep all updated.

You live in Texas, but summers can get pretty warm up here in the Midwest too.
For me, the ventilated seat is plenty cool enough when the fan is actually working. A/C would literally "freeze my *** off".
But since my fans, like many others posting here, turn down or off after a couple of minutes, I have to rate the system as a "C-".
