NO front plate in PA, and BETTER YET....... NO tax on retirement income in PA....... yea, yea, I know..... FL has no state income tax on anyone. I get it..... I lived there 18 years.
But, best of all we have hills and crooked roads, twisties, etc in central and western PA
Yea for now. Remember we have Governor Wolf, he loves to spend then he taxes to pay for it.

I usually drive up to visit family and friends in PA but it's a long drive and everytime I'm there I never realized how bad some roads were. But I'll always be an EaglesSteelersPennstatePittTemple&Villan ova fan. Nuts huh?
I live in a state with a front plate requirement, but I don't run them on most of my cars, and I've not been pulled over since the 80s (literally). Maybe it's different state to state in terms of enforcement, I don't know.
At least around here, I doubt anyone ever gets pulled over for a missing front plate as a primary offense, and I'm the proof of that. But if you get pulled over for something else, I'd expect it to get added to the bill.
I moved to Seattle back in about 1993, and I saw a stand up comedian who said his new business plan was to move to Seattle and open an Orange Barrel Store.

install the remote disappearing front plate that you show when you want and hide when you want
saw someone at a car show had one on his C6 - slides under the car when you want to hide it

If you are here in TX, there is a loop hole in the statue. Simply have the plate on when you go to have a court date assigned. For a nominal service fee of $20.00 the court will wave the citation. The local court gets to keep the $20.00. The state gets nothing ! 😁
I live in Kentucky. Here we don't have to run a front plate. I travel into Virginia on a regular basis due to work. While in a restaurant one evening talking with a Virginia DOT cop he informed me that in the near future all states will require the front plate because of the traffic cameras and such. I'm not sure how much truth is in that but he sure seemed sure of it.
i hope not.
I am speculating of course, but I think with all of the chips they are putting in everything from your drivers license to the tracking things on our cars. I keep hoping that eventually we won't have license plates, We shouldn't need them.
vbdenny: Pennsylvania is the only state I've seen that blocks 15 miles of Intertstae to work on one shoulder on a bridge. Wish I sold orange cones there.
Had to laugh, but Florida has that topped. If there's an accident on any of the interstates they have a minimum of 10 Police cars , a firetruck and ambulance and stop all traffic in the lanes (notice that's plural) where it occurred until they clear the wreck and finish their investigation. It usually takes a couple hours and you sit there. At least in PA they direct you into one lane to go past the wreck while they clear it up.

There are plenty of options to easily take it on and off, but it has to be on any time you're driving. The only time I would take it off would be at a show...
Since you mentioned ways to take it off I take it you used the Aero Panel Vs the other plate mount. The Aero Panel just by itself doesn't look all that bad and when plates are added to them there isn't much distraction from the car.
When I was at Carlisle in 2013 a GM Engineer was showing how quick the panel could be pulled off the car so it could be taken on track.

Same here. I live in California and drive my Vette to work a couple of times a week. I go right past the county courthouse and police station. Never been an issue.

Did you use the bracketless method like I did???
I am debating on whether or not to spend money on body color duct tape.
I gotta say, that's FUGLY. Way worse than the aero plate, which actually looks okay when compared to how plates look on a C6, imo.
My $0.02 is to go ahead and pony up for the body color duct tape.

OR rear plate? You run with no front and no rear plate? I am impressed with the size of your cajones!

Yeah, my $0.02 is that this doesn't look all that bad. I'd rather not have to, but if it comes to it, this won't be so painful. When the C7 was first introduced, I read an article that said Chevy took the front plate into account when designing the front fascia, so at least it doesn't look horrible. I don't think they did that for the C6, sadly.
I added the front license plate to my car. (No I wont post a picture). I'm trying to get over it, but good lord does it look ugly...

I feel for you-I'm in DFW and mounted my plate using the aero mount, and doesn't look bad with the black on white standard Texas plate. At least the aero mount doesn't involve drilling holes in the bumper to mount.
Now my 911 has never had a front plate and won't--the holes aren't even punched in the bumper. When it gets to 25 years old, I'm going with a classic car plate (which is one plate only on the rear). Until then, I'll pay the fine if ticketed.
Zip Products sells a plate holder that is held in place with two clips, easy on easy off. I just trimmed all the excess off the aero plate bracket so all that is visible is just the plate - it is an improvement.
I feel your pain here in NJ we need front plate also
My car is registered in NJ, in fact all 4 of the vettes i owned were at one point or another, and I've never had the front plate mounted nor been pulled over for it. I even got a speeding ticket last month on the turnpike and the Statey didn't even care about not having a front plate... he did care about me exceeding the limit, but that's another issue lol
