Default Quick Jack

I'm thinking about getting a set of these.
Anyone used them?

A few have and have posted a few thread about it. My main concern is lateral stability. I don't want to be under the car and it move to the side and down... on me. I see there are cross bars so that should help maybe a jack stand or too just for good measure when the car is up on this unit.

That is my concern also. It looks like it could be weak if some sort of side to side motion was applied.

I have one. I think they are great if you don't have the room for a 4 post lift. The car is very stable when lifted but I tend to be cautious so when in the full extended mode I put a set of Jack Stands near the from of them just in case something does happen.

Reminded of what my Dad made me do when I worked on cars with him. Started when I was 10 or 12 and after we jacked up the car would sit the car frame on jack stands. Actually cement blocks as they were are jack stands!

He then made me hit the car hard with my shoulder! Recall once he said that was not hard enough, if it's going to fall better now when we are not under it! He had a friend killed when a car he was working on fell on him!

I will not use jack stands on both ends of the car. Even have a set of stands that clearly says in the warning label "Use Only on One End of a Car." Where possible my preference is jack stands on one end and stanchions under the wheels on the other.

Love my Quickjack. It is very stable. I have not read a single report of a failure.

Very stable, much larger footprint than jack stands. They are heavy steel. They work as advertised.

I just purchased the 5000 SLX this morning. Happy to report that I found a promo code "money" that reduced the price by $100. Hope this helps others who may be on the fence.

If you call them direct and tell them you saw their add for $100 off on TV they will give you the $100

Check YouTube for a video by QuickJack where they intentionally overload it to prove how much weight it can carry before it fails, and push on it laterally to test stability.

It should be noted that one user had more trouble with the hydraulic couplers than with the steel lift itself.

I was a little skeptical prior to seeing a demonstration at Carlisle. Seem to work well and safely.
Of course a 4-post lift is much better and what, about a grand of so more?

True, but a 4-post needs quite a bit more room for install, good concrete to bolt to, and isn't portable. The QuickJack is a nice solution for those of us with small garage spaces, might be moving, are renting, etc.

Another owner here. 5000SLX. Works great! I don't have room for a permanent lift, so this approach is ideal for me. On a humorous note, I bought it before installing my side-skirts--only to find it's rather useless for installing side skirts (in the way for drilling). But oil changes, wheel changes, etc it's going to be great. Thinking of a couple ramps to use with my ATV too.

I finally pulled the trigger on getting a Quick Jack. I got the 7000lb one so I could use it on both the Corvette and our other vehicle. I love it, very stable and high enough to scoot around under the car on my creeper.
