The Corvette Aero plate may indicate "No License Plate", but it also sports clear dots for exactly where you need to drill to use it as a license plate frame. It's super simple to mod yourself... and I say that from personal experience, since I did it and do not consider myself the handiest of handymen!

Heck... If "That Cute Ginger" can do it... so can you!

How does the aero plate screw on to the grill? I don't understand how the screws hold it to the grill

I used the aero plate. Discard the part that says corvette. I used my license plate as a guide and cut all the excess from around it. Got a rubber plate frame from Wally World.

Geee, I wonder where he got that idea?

Be careful not to flex the bracket while cutting, because even though it is plastic, it can crack near the cutouts where it is thin near the edge.

Now add a stage 1 splitter and you are all set.

TEXHAWK0,

I got the idea from Top Flight Reproductions.

As a Texas resident, I purchased a Top Flight front mounting bracket for my C6. Around town I never use my front plate, but when going out of town I install the front plate as you are more likely t be stopped by the DPS than local PD's.

Regardless of what the graphic says on the frame itself, it was marketed as a frame plate when the car debuted. There was at least one video from GM, and the picture boards at the dealer showed as such and called it so.

Drill through the dimples and it's easy peasy!
