Default Time to replace tires...?

After 15,500 miles, I currently have 3/32" fronts & 5/32" rears on my Z51, Front: P245/35ZR19. Rear: P285/30ZR20.

Have read that 2/32 is absolutely replacement time, but 4/32 is when you should start looking at replacement.

I have 2 yrs left on my 5 year tire replacement warranty, so only looking at Run-Flats:
OEM Michellin Pilot Super Sport .
Discount Tires has set of 4 at lowest price for $1428. Checked with TireRack, Costco, Sams, NTB, etc. also.

or Michellin Pilot Sport A/S3 Plus, $1162

We have rain here, but no snow. I do some spirited driving, but no track. So is the $266 savings worth it?

Saw ad at my Chevy dealer about them matching local prices. Not sure if dealer is best place for replacement tires, even if they match prices.

So time to replace tires now? or soon?
& Where, Discount Tires...?

If they are wearing evenly, that is what the wear bars are for.
If they will pass inspection, then they should still be safe, as long as they are not 5 or 6 years old.

Remember, Z06's come with almost half the tire with no tread.

I usually go to Discount Tire. The store here will match anyone's price, and so will the dealer.

Just FYI, the AS3+ is also available in standard and ZP versions. I suspect the price you were quoted above was not for the ZPs, which are closer in price to the PSS.

It is an excellent tire as is the OEM in warm weather. I have a both sets and run the AS3+ in winter and OEM summer.

Actually, just had safety inspection at dealer last wkend, & it passed with 3/32" fronts.

3/32's? You better not hit any puddles. It's time to replace them. Yes, they may legally be ok, but they are not safe if you get caught out in a rain storm.

I actually got my Z-51 AS3+ ZPs at Costco (had to order them) for a great price PLUS $100 additional off during a Michelin Sale. They were great and did not put a single mark on my chrome rims... book two appointment slots to give extra care..... they even alerted me to defective plating on the rims and fill tires with Nitrogen....smile....

Love the tires... ride much quieter than factory and afford year round performance if you don't plan to track the car....LK

Thanks for posting this. Good to know Costco can order these tires. A great option.
