I had the same symptoms, less the boil over.
Dealer couldn't find the fault, gave the car back and wished me luck.
So far, it was a singular event and with cooler weather coming, may not
happen again this year.

Did you check the air intake duct. They call these cars vacuum cleaners for a reason. Maybe you had a piece of trash blocking the air duct intake which would cause it to overheat.

Yes all checked. Car seems to be running great again since the cap was replaced. It did fail the pressure test so hopefully it's resolved.
