Hi all. Mileage now 800 miles. When should the first oil change take place. Manual says 7500 k but I hear that it should be 800 miles. C7 1LT A8. Who's right.

Always amazed that some just don't want to believe what GM has spent a lot of time and money developing, the OLM!
In the C7 it even now includes time in the algorithm! In my '88, '93, '08 Vettes had to keep track of the calendar for the last change to follow the "Chage at Min One Year Requirement!"
The OLM even considers what a lot of C7's are used for - a weekend car. Worse thing or the engine is to go 2 miles to the store and back! The oil never gets hot to burn off the rich stating air/fuel mixture that gets past the cold pistons before they get hot and expand! Worse thing for an engine is starting and not letting the oil get hot enough for long enough to evaporate the main product of combustion-water that forms acids in the oil. The OLM will shorten the required change period with those conditions. FWIW, I try not to start my Street Rod when moving it out of the garage to get access to a ladder etc without driving ~20 miles to get the oil hot long enough to evaporate the cold start blowby that gets in the oil!
You can 2nd guess the OLM if you wish by changing sooner but at least decide to look at the % below a change requirement and pick a number you like if not when it's near 0 when you'll get a warning.

I asked the same question with my 1LT 8A and got different answers. I got mine changed at 600 miles just to be safe. My dealership did not hassle me. My owners manual says specifically to change at 500 miles. But, some say this is only for a dry sump and that the owners manual is wrong. Getting your oil changed at 500 miles will certainly not harm the motor.
As I get 4 free changes in 24 months, will get first one done at 1000 (wet sump) as I always do, then 1 year later and 3rd at 24 months. Won't have the mileage on the last 2, but it certainly doesn't hurt to put oil in earlier--if you're not paying for it. After that, yearly when I do it myself, irrespective of mileage. The 500 with the dry sump is in the manual, wet sump is yearly or 7500 miles, but sooner if the oil life indicator says it's time.

The manual says exactly this:
Dry Sump Engine Break-In Oil
Change If equipped with a dry sump engine,
the initial oil and filter change must
be performed at 800 km/500 mi.
Follow the engine oil life system for
every oil change thereafter
I have a "wet sump" 2017 Stingray and just had my first oil change done Saturday at 3,000 miles. The OLM said 44 percent left, but I had it done anyway - since my first two services are "free" at any Chevy dealer. I have owned it almost 7 months, so it was time to change it in my mind.
I am old-school on this issue and don't believe you can ever change oil too often.

Yep says that in about 5 or 6 places in the Owner's Manual, including notes in the maintenance tables!
But on page 181 of the PDF version on the 2017 Owner's Manual it says: "After the first 800 km (500 mi), change the engine oil on vehicles with the LT1 engine, the LT4 engine, the Z51 package,or the Grand Sport package."
IMO a copywriter made a mistake and transposed some words. It should have read: "After the first 800 km (500 mi), change the engine oil on vehicles with the LT4 engine, and the LT1 engine with the Z51 package or the Grand Sport package."
I believe that error was lifted with those same incorrect words in a brochure.
If someone can convince the dealer to change-go to it. Although when they don't get reimbursed they may not do the last one free!

Yes, that was a typo. Pretty much any new Corvette will have the LT1 engine or the LT4 engine. Haha!!
You are correct that the extra "free" oil change at 500 miles is only for the LT1 engines on Stingrays with the Z51 package (dry sump oil system), all Grand Sport and Z06 Corvettes.
Base Stingray cars such as mine (wet sump) that are 2017 models get just TWO "free" oil changes within the first 24 months.
