I was hoping they could build a delay into the Range that would allow the car to start before the Range turns itself on. This would eliminate the need for an on off switch. Oh well, I just have to live with having to remember to turn the darn thing OFF when I shut the car down. No biggee but I'm sure I will forget and get a CEL but as long as they clear I'm OK.
That is disheartening considering how long they have been working on a the fix.
BTW, did you try unplugging it then restart the car? Did the error code clear?
I first pulled it and then put it back in to see if it would clear the codes, no joy. Then I shut down and pulled it out. Started things up and put it in, no joy.
So finally I just pulled it and restarted the car a few times until it cleared...which is how I've had to do it in the past as well.
I think one thing to know, if you have one of these and you don't get a code, you may not be likely to get one. But if you get a code, it will come up pretty quickly....you won't have to wait long. And they are easy to clear.
So my advice to folks would be to try it without switches or anything. If you get a code and you want to keep using it, add the switch. But if you never get a code, keep on driving!

Seems the models up to 2016 work well without a switch. Later models probably will need one IMHO.
Considering that it's almost winter storage time in a couple of months for those of us in colder climates, I'm going to wait until the spring to see if they can fix it over the winter.
Apparently they had shipped me 8.3B5 for my last test, not an 8.4 module. They shipped me last week an 8.4R1 (production, not beta) to test out, they don't have a current beta. That failed on my 2017 as well, so the 8.4 doesn't seem to fix the issue of CEL's being generated.
That was yesterday, I sent them emails detailing it, we'll see but I'm guessing they are a little ways out from another beta.
They told me:
"The repeating CEL you've been seeing in your 'Vette is the same kind of issue other '17s were showing with the 8.3's. Since exchanging out their modules, the feedback has been more than encouraging for everyone. "
Not sure how they think they know what CEL's I'm getting because I have not given them any data, but maybe that's why they keep missing a fix!
They also said they had one of their engineers do some extensive data logging on a 17 Silverado that continues to have issues, but don't think that necessarily applies to us. Seems like that is what they need to do on my car :-)
I'm ok with data logging, but i'm not ok with being a guinea pig, and not sure you should be either. If they're not careful, they could accidentally do something that voids your warranty or damages the car/electronics, worst case obviously.
