2014 Stingray Navigation issue
For example, there's a road in my area that has existed for 30+ years, but it is not on the Nav map.
Ditto some areas around where I work.
The main road is there, but some of the side roads arent. So the system tells me to go to the nearest road, then turn ....

The figure 8 thing is to correct the compass readings, not calibrate the nav system AND it was for the C6.
C6 manual
If after two seconds the display does not show a
compass heading, there may be a strong magnetic
field interfering with the compass. Such
interference may be caused by a magnetic
antenna mount, note pad holder or similar object.
If the letter C appears in the compass window,
the compass needs calibration.
The mirror compass can be calibrated by driving
the vehicle in circles at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less until
the display reads a direction.
The compass can be placed in calibration mode
by pressing and holding the left map light
button until a C appears on the compass display.

While not exactly related to the OP, nav systems, both built in or portable, can have issues when changes are made to roads. My wife was using Google maps while I had the dash nav on the other day and we drove over the new Kosciusko bridge. The new bridge has been built right next to the old one. As we swung over to the new bridge, both nave systems assumed we were on the local roads below, and then switched back to the highway when we got off the bridge. I expected that from the Vette as I have not bought the updates but even Google had not updated yet....new bridge has been open for three months....

3 month old bridge? Wait 3 years before you update!

OnStar Nav and the Nav with maps (the "built in" Nav) are two different things. Looks like you only have the OnStar nav that you pay extra for to OnStar. You have to have the built in Nav installed when the car is built, it was an option on all but 3LT trim level in 2014.
