Default Blendmount- Need Higher Position

For the Valentine, I use the concealed display mounted on top of the steering column, so I don't need to see the detector itself. In our C6, I had a simple mount that screwed into the windshield trim where the Onstar antenna used to be, but couldn't make one that would work in the C7. So I dug into my wallet and ordered a Blendmount.

The design and construction are good, except that I can't adjust it high enough to keep the detector out of my sight, behind the mirror. That's both an annoyance and a possible safety issue, blocking some of the view to my right-front.
Yes, I can live with it. No, I don't want to.

Has anyone modified their Blendmount to raise the detector enough so it's out of sight behind the mirror? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks!

I'd like to hear a suggestion on this as well. I'm currently looking to just hardwire in to the rear fuse box and run it up to the drivers side. Then mount on dash in front of steering wheel.

IF you have a Valentine, you can plug their Savvy accessory into the OBD port. That will power the Valentine and also allow you to set a speed below which any alerts will come on at low (muted level) volume. I haven't used my Savvy yet but it sounds good.

I have the Escort IX. That would be great if they offered one.

Still hoping someone will tell me how to adjust or modify my Blendmount to hide the detector "behind" the mirror, to get it out of my sight and have better visibility.
