i have the base stingray and got this warning on dash today. The A8 was so hot I thought car was going to stop. When I slowed down the trans seem to keep slipping. My car also has a loud noise under car like 1000 pennies moving around in car. Seems to be right behind trans. My car has 1600 miles.

What does he mean, "seem to keep slipping"? Where exactly are the 1000 pennies? If they are behind the trans then they are in the diff, but he says "moving around in car". I don't know.
What sort of transmission cooler do you get with the A8 in a regular Stingray currently? The cooler was very small when the C7 first came out unless you got the Z51 package; now the Z51 and above A8 get the front horizontal cooler in addition to the smaller one mounted in the rear quarter panel. Look through the grill and see if you can see a large cooler laying horizontally (flat) in front of the main cooling stack and if so you also have the second larger transmission cooler.
If you were doing spirited driving in hot weather you may have exceeded the capabilities of the rear cooler but it is quite possible its fan isn't working or it has picked up debris.

Only drove car for 30 minutes on main streets. I don't drive fast at all. I only have 1600 miles on car.

I have contacted GM's Excutive Office with my complaints. This crap is awful. Then washed car today to only find one of my air ducts in rear had been pop riveted into place to hold it. That's why I'm getting this awful sound.
