Great post! Love the pics of older Vettes...especially that blue one at the end. What a great smile on the driver's face!

Nice throwback pics. My favourite this week is the Shriners pic with the arch still under construction. You have to wonder how many of the dealers in these pics are still around.

Enjoy your Spring Mountain trip. Going back again June 2018.

How close is the color tone of Sebring Orange Tintcoat to Daytona Sunrise Orange?

Have fun at your 2nd Annual Furman Corvette.

In my opinion it's a true orange like Lifesaver Orange.

Great story on "converting" Xavier the P-car guy. I know some of those old dealers but not most of them. Good to see those b/w photos of cars and owners. And that '58 poster for Harley Earl is certainly a treasure, the first year of the Impala, and the only year of the "washboard hood" Corvette.

Here is my vote. I picked this 1967 because it has real bolt on wheels.

Great pictures and stories Mike. I have missed your last two columns as I was on vacation. I was in Las Vegas two days ago so I missed you by a few days.

Takeaways:

Downey Chevrolet actually had a "Buying Dept."?!

Three Way Chevrolet?! Wonder what the 3 ways actually were.

Wonder how many of these black and white Chevrolet dealers are still in business under the same names.

You just don't see anyone anymore sitting on the fenders of Corvettes in the media photos.

"Tally Ho" responded earlier in this thread. I wonder if this might be the customer of Mike's who is a Navy F16 fighter pilot.

Can't wait for the write ups and pics from Mike's Spring Mountain Driving School annual event this weekend. Maybe some sightings of the 2018 ZR1, or even the mid-engine Corvette!!! Only Ron Fellows would know......

The old pics are very cool. Got to wonder how many of those auto dealerships are still in business.

I always wonder how many people you have known in life were in the same city as you at the same time, crossing paths.
