Was always curious on the vert vs coupe design. The vents on top of the rear fenders are functional in the GS / Z06, how is that ventilation accomplished when they are removed?

Vert doesn't have them. I don't know if they remove the extra coolers or if they just use less efficient ways to cool them (ambient temp, or under carriage pickups).

From an aesthetics point of view I like both. But with the removable roof I'm happy with the level of exposure to the outside. I always like the idea of a convertible, just can't convince myself to buy one.

Both beautiful sportscar designs!
I believe I like the rear 'Corvette' emblem installed as opposed to removed as in the above vert.

The Vert cooler intakes are in the wheel well.

Vert air intake are in the wheel well. Not as efficient but they are there!

^ I believe these help cool the rear differential?

Depends on the model. As with the coupe, on an A8 I believe they are on both sides. On the left for the A8, right the dif.

On manual Z51, GS and Z06 coupe, we also have a trans cooler on the left. Had one on my 2014 Z51 and do now on the Grand Sport.

On the base car M7 it has neither! On the coupe the vents are fake and probably nothing on the Vert.

A Coupe can't go to Vert Mod.Complete,Open to the rear
But at the push and hold of a switch.Vert transforms to Coupe. It's Quieter too.

On the Z51 and above convertibles, the cooling ducts which are mounted on the fenders of coupes are underneath the car, just inside the rear wheels on both sides. At least that was true on '14 models.

My '14 Z51 M7 convertible does have these vents.

^^^

That pic I posted (#25) of a cooler intake is for some year Vert.

I am aware on some year Vert, there is a line with fins is in the center of the car with a plastic air deflector. Not sure which model, but thought that may have been a Z51 dif for some year.

One of the reasons I bought my 2001 coupe was because of the removable top. I took it off a lot at first, then eventually stopped doing it. It was heavy and doing it solo was a pain in the ****. My salesman at Kerbeck showed me how light the top is on my 2017 GS. I thought I'd use it more because it's so easy to handle alone. I think I've had it off twice in 11 months. I think I'd be as happy if it had a fixed roof. I just love driving it.

It's not an "air deflector" on my car, but actual ducts (post #29) routed to the rear diff and trannie. The only difference between those on the coupe is the routing, and air coming from underneath the car.

Here is a link that refers to both. From your pic sounds like you are confirming at least one cooler gets it's air from the wheel well.

I love being able to remove the roof on my C7 Z06. We considered a convertible however decided the trunk space was to small for when we did road trips. Also the top is incredibly easy to take off as well as put back on. Love this car more all the time.

There are no such fender-liner vents on my 14 Z51 M7 convertible, and the same large air duct pictured above is mounted on both driver's and passenger side. They run from just inside the front of the rear wheel all the way to the diff and trannie.

There's no air deflector either. Clearly they made some changes somewhere along the way even in the '14 MY. Below are pictures of the passenger-side duct from the back side, and absence of fender-liner vents.

I like the Targa top and if it was a fixed roof only, would seriously consider a Vert.
I find the C7 Coupe has less turbulence with the top off than my C6 did.
Take the top off quite a bit in warm weather and put the windows up about 1/3 for highway driving.
Cuts down on turbulence about 80% .
I like the looks of a Vert or Coupe, and think the Vert looks good top up or down.
IMO, the Vert with the top up looks more like a Sports car, ... Roadster
And the C7 Vert top operation is really Slick, push a button, up or down, no latching / unlatching, it does it all
The Coupe just fits my needs better

As you said the obviously made some changes on how they get air to the coolers in Verts.
