I'm sending a car from NJ to Venice, FL and I'm looking for a reputable car transport company. No open carriers, only closed. Please let me know of your experiences and how much you paid. Thanks so much for you help.
I never used Intercity, but have had them quote on a job and have seen a lot of praise about them here and elsewhere. They seemed very great to work with on the quoting and are known to be a class act. They are not the cheapest, but done right.
I used Horseless Carriage to move my C5 from Long Island NY to Tucson AZ. They were great. The car showed up exactly the way it left NY. They were not cheap but they were excellent.

If intercity or horseless will do it go with them even if they are a tad bit pricey. I learned from experience and never use auto bahn use. most of these companies are brokers and the company you call isn't the one delivering your car they broker it out. Those to companies own there trucks.
The good thing about InterCity and I assume Horseless Carriage is they are self-performers and once they pick up your car it's stays on that truck until they deliver it.
Often brokers will pick up a car with one truck then off-load for a warehouse stay somewhere waiting for another pickup. This can happen multiple times until your car is delivered.
I moved from NJ to FL 18 months ago and I used Horseless Carriage to move my C7. They were great! Even though it was an enclosed transport they still covered the car. If I recall it was around $1300. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Yep both Intercity and HC are real professionals, see here where Intercity uses a car cover, them wrapped in plastic after that, hard to imagine anything could go wrong.
Reliable Carriers, Used them to transport my C7 from Brighton Mich. to Murrells Inlet S.C. Very happy with them. They are the official carrier for Barrett Jackson.
Drove my C6 down from Maryland to Florida, drove my C7 last year
from FL to Ocean City and back. I have plans to go to OC, MD in a few
weeks for Corvette Weekend at OC.
I did put a Bra on both cars to protect the front. Try not to follow large
trucks or 4X4's with large tires. Enjoy the drive.

Another "shout-out" to Reliable. Michigan to Texas. At the time I used them Intercity was quite expensive, comparatively, but I am sure also very competent.
In addition to closed, I'd also recommend only a hydraulic lift loader (vs driving up a ramp) if a manual. A Camaro I transported at the same time had the clutch burned up (witnesses with a video showing the smoke) due to an inept driver. They finally reimbursed for partial cost of a clutch. Never would have happened without proof and still took months.
I would NEVER trust a manual to a loader that doesn't use a drive on ramp with a hydraulic lift.
GM uses Reliable (and possibly others, I can only vouch for Reliable).
