Default Corvette Tech?

Need to take my 2018 A8, NPP Stingray to dealer to have the warble sound looked at. When I make an appointment do I need to request the corvette tech? Anyone know any dealer they trust/recommend in central NJ?

Thanks!

You are not alone my friend. There is some good information in this thread, and how to go about getting the correct repair. It's quite a long thread, but the info on contacting GM's TAC center will help you greatly. Good luck.

It's quite sad that GM knows about this problem, and have let it go on for so long.

Thanks! wondering if I should start with an email to GM and then have them call or contact the dealer near me? This way the dealer knows I have already contacted GM and they are trying to point me in the right direction?

How can I contact GM's TAC center?

Thanks!!

I did that. All they will do is call you, and give you a case number. They will then set up an appointment at your dealer for you. It really isn't worth your time. I suggest you take the thread with you, and show the service writer what GM has done for others along with showing them"Strake's" video. Then take a Tech for a ride so they can hear the noise. If you let them take it out they will never hear it. Then if they have questions they can call the Tech Center. You will probably need to be persistent as the Service Writer will tell you he hasn't heard anything about the problem, and he won't be lying. GM hasn't been very forthcoming about this problem with their dealers.

FYI: I haven't taken mine in yet as the "warble" has dropped in decibels to low to hear over the regular noise. From what has been discussed mine is at the wear point of just breaking, and then I'll be hauling it to the dealer. Shouldn't be any questions after that.

I kept a list from various CF members and it includes: Paramus Chev (Giovanni to do the work), Ayers, and Gearhart. Pine Belt Chev and Lester Glenn (Tommy to do the work), Freehold Chev (Kevin to do the work). All from 2013-14. Hope this helps you.

I've run across one or two favorable comments on Malouf in North brunswick. Never used them myself

I'm in Trenton and chose to go 40 miles across the river to Bryner Chevy in Jenkintown Pa.
The Corvette service manager is Chris Stacy. Corvette tech is Steve Spence

I've been there 4 or 5 times. Twice for track alignments(including rear caster) once to drain diff fluid after first track event ,once for seatbelt TSB, once for warped brake rotors (replaced under warranty) and to replace failed AFM actuator

Treated very well every time and all work was always done to my complete satisfaction .

Gio is at Hawthorne, not Paramus.

I belong to a corvette club in florida and drove 2016 vetts the people own, no wabble at 1500, im not going to buy...……….the noise in normal. But if i trade it in, they are going to say their is a problem. What a joke the car was at chrystal chevy in crystal river florida

Freehold Chevrolet closed a few years ago. Kevin , one of the best is now working at Freehold GMC/Buick. He works on vettes at that location but the dealership might not want to take on new corvette customers. Alternative is Quality Chevrolet in Old Bridge they also have a couple of vette techs

I authored the original Post on the WARBLE and the key is getting a good dealer service manager to hear and do his home work in calling eng or tech support for authorization to replace diff with a new improved one not old stock. Suggest you find best dearer of your choice and before you take car in test out surrounding roads and find a stretch where the car displays the WARBLE best, slight incline while light acceleration. Take the SM or tech a ride on this same stretch of road so you get the WARBLE result. Warble is not normal and all the dealerships say we never heard of this problem, I don't believe them. Good luck and document your problem in the original post if you would so it is all in one place instead of multiple post. Let us know how it goes.

I'd be surprised altho dealers do odd things. Still, it's a paying customer coming thru the door for a tech/mechanic who knows how to do the work on another GM brand/make. Maybe someone could ask him/them???
