Default Logistics question

I recently received notification of a TPW of 1/1/18 for my GS Vert. Since there are many here that have ordered/bought many Vettes, if my TPW is 1/1/18, when do you think I'd be able to do the Museum delivery option that I ordered? I work at a large hospital and have to ask off from work several weeks in advance, and I'm trying to figure out what time of the month I should ask off for a week. Planning to fly to Nashville with the wife, take in the sights and restaurants, and then drive down to BG and the Museum, then come home to NC. Anyone with experience with TPW's and the actual time-frame of how long after production till you can pick up your Vette? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Call Chevy Customer service, and talk to the dealer that sold you the car. (or maybe just call Mike Furman at Criswell)

Thanks. Don't think I'll bother Mike, seeing as how I bought it at MacMukin. I'll do some digging around later on today. Thanks for the response!

The TPW is just that, a target. I is likely to move. There is a pretty big window on the backside that the Museum control and also a two week hold after production.

Ok thanks, I'm just trying to figure out which week to ask off. We have to ask off weeks in advance, so sometimes it's a pain to get time off if you have something coming up but you're not quite sure when it's going to happen. Like this, for instance. Thanks so much!

The latest the car will come off the line is 1/7, and then it may go to quality control (which can take 7-14 days), plus it needs to be trucked to the Museum, prepped for delivery and delivered to you.
If you need to be safe, I would allow at least 3.5 weeks from1/8, so sometime during the end of the week of January 29th or during the week of February 5th.

Thank you so very much! I had requested time off for the second and third week of January. So that looks like it's too early, so I'll go back in and request the first week of February instead. Hopefully that will work out ok. Thanks again!

I would black out the last week of January and the first two weeks of February at work. Then, you will be assured of getting the time off from work. When the date of you needing to be at the NCM is known, then adjust the days you don't need off from the days you've already got reserved from the calendar at work.

Help me here, is 1/7 the last TPW, or LAST DAY of 2108 MY production?

Thanks

IF, your HR/Supervisor will work with you on giving them back the days/week(s) you don't need - as the NCM date is more known.

I'll bet some of the guys that have been faced with the same (not knowing when) deal from NCM, will chime in.

FWIW - the 2018 will probably be the distinct value play over the 2019 C7 - all things considered. My regret may be in not getting a 2018 placed after the deadline to order the '18 closes!
