Default Smaller steering wheel?

Guys

Have you ever felt you need a smaller, performance steering wheel but didn't want to quit airbag? Looks like we may have a solution for you :-)

We've started with a C6 and will hopefully post the results within no more than 2-3 weeks. Depending on future interest, the C7 wheel will follow

So far we have modified core and we are now working on the resin overlay. Here's the comparison of stock steering wheel with smaller, modified core - this should give you some hint of what to expect

What do you think? Is this something we should proceed with or maybe we're just wasting our time and OEM steering wheel is good enough?

Please let me know

Take care

Jack

I'm sure there may be a few who think this is necessary, but frankly, not I. I am curious, though, have you had C7 owners requesting this... with the "flat bottom" wheel?

Not sure I need it and how it would work with electric power assist. However at least I would be able to eliminate that flat bottom "race car poser" steering wheel.

Sure hope GM doesn't think we need to look like F1 drivers and make a top and bottom flat wheel! In F1 they don't turn much more than 90 degrees-I do!

Man as always it looks great & for sure there will be guys in here that will love it also. But then again I think more will like it with the bottom of it still being flat also. Robert

I'd be interested in seeing a smaller C7 wheel.

I think we will be working on a smaller C7 wheel once we fully finalize the very first prototype and are able to precisely calculate the amount of work necessary wnd the final cost. So far the C6 wheel looks like this:

The urethane resin is built up on the smaller core and needs a bit of fine tuning before it is wrapped in leather.

Hope to show it completed early next week

Take care
