I purchased mine over two years ago for my 2016. Works great but was thinking about sending it in for the latest software. Then I thought, if it ain't broken don't upgrade it.
I just leave it plugged in (no switch). I drive the car several times a week. So far no battery drain issues.
Pardon my ignorance, but if the car's only being driven occasionally, what's the benefit of this device?
I, too, drive my car occasionally and average 18-19mpg in mixed driving. So unless this device is going to increase that by 25% (number off the top of my head) I don't see where the payoff is going to happen.
I don't generally drive in ECO mode, but I have tried it and didn't notice any adverse driving issues...

Any enlightenment?
The purpose of this device to eliminate 4 cylinder mode, thereby eliminating any possible TC issues. You seriously thought it was to improve gas mileage? You might consider actually reading the thread.

Well, I had never heard of the Range devices prior to reading this thread (in it's entirety) so I went to the mfgr's website before posting. One of the devices they make IS for improved gas mileage and the other is for disabling the AFM.
Since the OP talked about his reduced gas mileage I mistakenly thought the thread was referring to that device. I have no idea what TC refers to but I appreciate your condescension. After all we're not here to share information and help each other, are we?

You might try helping yourself a bit first by reading a few threads and learning about your car before asking annoying questions. TC is the torque converter. Do a search.

Okay. My car doesn't have a TC, but you win.
Happy Thanksgiving...

That is good news. Just to be clear, you have a '17 Grand Sport with the A8, no switch, and version 8.6, and after 2 days of using it, no CELs and no limp mode?
If so, it's time to break out the credit card again and buy it (again. I bought an earlier version and returned it waiting for a version that would work with my 17 GS with an A8)
looks llike 8.6 is good to go. I ordered a new one yesterday. Hopefully it works. I'll try it on my new Tahoe (2018) first, and the '17 GS in the spring.
