I had a strange occurrence yesterday. The wife and I went on a short cruise. She took her key fob (#2) and I had mine (#1). The two times when we returned to the locked car she got in on the passenger side first. When I went to start the car it loaded the #2 settings. This happened twice. I thought that the #1 Fob would override the #2 Fob when both are in the car.

Nope, can’t be a gentlemen! You have to get in first then let her open her own door and close it! First recognized FOB wins!
My wife would never get in the car unless I opened the door AND closed it for her! But she has never driven any of my 5 Vettes. They are all standard shifts, which she can drive, although hasn’t for years. She is afraid if she scratched it I would be very mad-she’s right! She doesn’t have a FOB.
Happens to me all the time. My wife's fob takes over and i get crunched. I have become adept at hitting the button fast before that happens. If we get in together before I start the car it's a 50/50 proposition which one gets recognized. I made an aluminum foil 'jacket' for her fob that seems to cut down on this a bit, but it's not a complete solution. She stores the fob in her purse and always stashed the purse in the footwell. I suspect the receiving unit is actually closer to her fob than the one in my pocket.
Oh I think it's great the girls like Corvettes but my wife prefers SUVs. They okay but terrible toys. Some girls live horsepower, most couldn't care less. On the flip side, I know far too many males who are the same. Ahhh.
If your wife doesn't drive the car frequently just set both memories to your preference. If she is going to drive, reset #2 for her. I also got tired of my knees in the dash...

In fairness, my wife loves her BMW X5 SUV as I do for long trips and when going to town to bring back 2X4s, plants, etc. I can put it in Sport and although not like my Grand Sport it handles quite well.
Frankly I prefer it on the Interstate as I can go over 18 Wheeler tire treads without destroying a $1000 Splitter and the radar detector seldom beeps vs the Vette!
My wife can drive a standard trans, and drove a twin lever, 7 speed Plymouth Camp when I had the Dodge Colt Turbo version. She had an automatic after the Champ but when she replaced it with a Honda Accord she got a standard shift.
However even with the ability, she has never driven any of my 5 Vettes, all standard shift. They are my ‘toy’ and all have also been my DD. She says she would not want to have me mad if she were to sctach one!
