A perfect example and point of this thread; new forum contributor has "no skin in the game", but just here to spew BS and/or trying to induce conflict.

On my 7 Vette and presently own a 15 Z51 Vert! (now in hibernation for our long nasty upper NYS winter)
I move to the forum of the car I'm presently driving. I do drop in to the other year forums on occasion as many times I can answer questions. After about 6 months I stay exclusively in my generation!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if it's only based on what you've heard or what you've read, it is less of an informed opinion than if you have experienced it yourself. No, C7 ownership isn't "mandatory" . . . but it certainly lends credibility to what you have to say about them. Here's mine:
I think it's ok to come on and read about a car you don't own. You can learn about it's characteristics, and learn from the people that own them. It helped me purchase my newest Corvette.
I lurked for a time posting in the C2/3 section because I was trying to decide between getting an old school vette or coming up with the cash for a newer one. In the end I decided any old vette would cost about the same in the long run.
Had my eye on a well done 68 with a non numbers matching BB primed and ready for paint. While most everything had been redone It would need paint and new tires and wheels etc.
By the time I was done making it mine it would be close to a used C7.
So I shopped used C7 took 6 months off for my wifes brain surgery and then sold my 54 Hudson Hornet to help pay for it and make some garage space.
During the shopping phase I looked at the C7 section a lot.
I only post what I know. It's up to you to decide if the advice or information is sound. An indirect way to know if a person tells it like it is can be to look under their name at the number of "Thanks" they are sporting.
I became more active on C7-forum when it became evident to me that I wanted a C7. It helped me greatly in deciding my preferences in which one I wanted, and how I wanted it equipped with options.
I started on CF after buying a 67 Convertible in 2002 and wanted to learn as much as possible by reading in the C1-2 section and also at the NCRS site. I didn't even venture into other C sections because I didn't have an interest into owning another generation.
Then mid summer of this year I decided to sell the 67 and buy a C7 in order to travel the country in a little more comfort and reliability. That is when I started to lurk here to learn and ask a few questions and continue today because there is so much to learn.
I have no problem with a non-owner being here, either as a lurker or poster. The best way to learn is by reading but someone who comes here as a non-owner and starts to bash the car with no intention to learn or educate should move on.
Rick
Like others have said owing a C7 does not grant one some pass to be more informed or not.
I've been on the Forum since the beginning...... thinking 1999? Ouch.
All I can say is the forum has saved me a ton of money & time.
You go over to offtopic where it is a different world but there is not a topic that has not been covered. You have an issue do a search or post it someone with help out.
Passion for cars comes through for most posters. Few posters who have the car bug are stirrers.
Welcome to the forum, OP. You've been here for about 6 months so you've seen how things can go here. Sometimes hard to know for sure if a poster has a C7.
I've often wondered how many C7 owners are registered here. At times you'll read a post that suggests we're a big crowd and GM should listen to our gripes. Other times it seems like there couldn't be more than a few hundred, a thousand tops, a small sample given to overall sales volume since the YM 2014. Do any administrators have this number available to them? Just wondering.
I like the backdrop on your picture WMark. Wife and I stopped there on our way to Phoenix back in 2015. In Phoenix we enjoyed dodging the I-10 shooter and getting jumped by a pack of Mustangs coming out of Tortilla Flats. You guys have all the fun. Here's my baby.
I have learned more information here than any brochure could provide. I have also learned to take comments with a grain of salt. You can spot either trolls or people "who knew a person" comments right from the start. I just take the valuable comments and move past the frivolous ones..
