Default C7 owner?

Have you ever wondered how many contributors to this forum actually own or have owned C7s?

I’m certainly not implying that contribution here should be limited to C7 owners and/or non-owner participating is not welcomed. However, many come here (both owners and non-owners) for information and C7 owner experiences. In my seeking such (being a newer C7 owner), it would be helpful to know if the person sharing experiences, firsthand knowledge, information etc is actually an owner and not just some poser spewing BS and/or trying to induce conflict.

My experiences with several forums and even moderating a collector type forum for many years tells me that some enjoy doing this.

I was just curious if others here have ever wondered about this? If not this thread may still result in some interesting discussion. And if a C7 owner, feel free to post photos of your prized C7.

Thanks in advance for your viewing, your thoughts and opinions.

Quite typical to see C6 owners post on here talking about C6 POV/Experiences or to bash the C7...especially on the Z06 side. Oh well, easy to ignore.

Interesting point, but as I go on "Ferrari Chat" once in a while, no reason to not post if you want to discuss something about the C7 or a Ferrari even if you don't own one. When I ask a question or answer one it's always in reference to my 2018 Stingray experience, but having owned 2 C6s--one A6 one M6 Z-51, that experience often comes into play as well.

I've been on this forum for 18 years, through five Corvettes. It doesn't take long to spot the trolls or "glass always half empty" type posters. Actually troll activity is much less than it was ten to fifteen years ago.

So which is it? Non-owners seeking information and C7 owner experiences, or non-owners spewing BS and/or trying to induce conflict? Do C7 owners by definition NEVER spew BS and/or induce conflict? I'm not sure that's a definition you want to make. it sounds very much like BS and/or trying to induce conflict.

I joined in 2005. Bought a C6 in 2008. Worked on the C7 in 2011 and 2012. Bought a C7 in 2016.

I rarely posted prior to 2008. Was active until 2013, went dark (was forced to), until I decided to stop hating the C7 rear styling and buy one (body color vents did it for me).

I post my opinion, and what I know to be true at the time I post it.

I’ve only been around for a few months. I enjoy reading what others have to say and I’ve even learned a few things in the process. I had a beautiful red 1971 Corvette in 73 but being only 20 years old at the time I finally sold it because the insurance cost was killing me. I’ve had quite a variety of cars over the years but I always wanted to own at least one more. When my wife commented that she wouldn’t mind having a new Corvette it didn’t take us long to start visiting dealerships on Sundays when they were closed to look at a few. After a couple weeks of looking and reading we made our decision and purchased our 2017 Black Rose Stingray. We’ve put right at 9000 miles on it since May and we look forward to every trip (long or short) we take.

Opinions are like A-holes, everyone has one.
I come here for ideas, mod info, and a few laughs.
You have to take some of the posts with a grain of salt.

I suppose anyone could claim to be an owner if they wanted--though I fail to see why.

Btw, ownership is hardly a deterrent to "...spewing BS."

I bought my C7 in August, my first Corvette ever after having probably dozens of cars, from real dogs only a starving student could afford to some fine examples of European engineering. The C7 puts the biggest smile on my face...

True, however if you are looking for personal experiences, firsthand knowledge, information etc regarding a C7, it would be nice to know if the person giving such actually owned a C7.

I lurked on here almost from the time the C7 came out. It was mostly out of curiosity. My plan was to sell my C5 and pick up a clean, used C6Z.

All that went out the window when I was at a track event with C7s for the first time. My built C5 was every bit as quick or quicker than all but the more modified C6Zs, but I could not shake essentially stock C7 Z51s.

After that I started posting here, asking questions, making comments. I scoured the C7s For Sale section. When the Grand Sport came out, my mind was made up. I went from looking at clean used C6Zs for around $40-42K to a new GS for $64K. It was entirely worth it.

I've been a paying member of CF since '05,when I had a C4 and I've owned 12 so far(C2-C7,skipped C6)....dating back to my 1st when I was 18.'66 427.

What you see on here is mostly actual C7 owners. Some of us race them, some of us don't.

You can tell the better ones by what they post.

For whatever reason I always post in regards to what I had or have or where I have direct experience. I had a C6GS and have a C6Z and a C7GS now.

I am over on a Viper site and a Ram site as well because I also have those.

I joined Rennlist because I toy with the idea of buying a GT3 Cup Car but wouldn't ever post there unless it was a specific question about one that I just couldn't find an answer to.

Once in awhile I will post in the C7Z section if there's someone questioning performance simply because I have some experience running with them or someone posts video of them putting down serious lap times to compliment them but my posting there is rare.

I do find it odd when people post when they have no experience in regards to the topic or just to bash and give contrary opinion

I do not have a C7, but do have a C5 and a C6. I check the C7 section frequently to learn all I can about them. When I paid off the C5 I bought the C6. When I pay the C6 off I plan on stepping up to the C7 and want to know all issues good or bad to make my selection.

No C7 here, currently own a C5. But enjoy reading all about the newer cars - mods, problems, owners experiences, etc.

I started on Corvette Forum under a different name.It was around 2006.
My first Vette 2002 had fuel gauge issues.Didn't post much but read alot.
Sold that.Purchased a Jeep and went back to the Beach.
Treated the Jeep like a Vette Garage Queen.
Saw this 7th Generation in person when they first came to showroom floors.Joined to Learn about my Dream Car...
WOW, I got BEATEN UP BAD.I admitted i was a dreamer. My automotive repair knowledge and running a automotive machine shop caused many a argument.Earned a couple Unwanted Vacations.
Was new at computer forums and i paid for that.Kept coming back.Even joined Corvette Stingray when i was Spanked here.Had to get my FIX..
So after Quitting Cigarette Smoking for over 3 yrs. That was the deal me and wife made. You quit,NEW VETTE.
After Her Dad passed she realized.Ya never know when your gonna go.
I barely passed HS.Type with 1 finger.Poor English and Sentence Structure,But I payed CASH for my C7
