I ordered a '18 Z51 convertible from Mike Furman this past Monday, and it's already at 3000 (accepted by production control). Mike said I should have a TPW (tentative production week) sometime within the next week, but based upon his experience, he predicted it would likely be the 3rd week of Jan.
Congrats Foosh. Very happy for you. On the other hand, you're leaving me all alone in the "Z51 with no aero pieces added to retain the gorgeous body lines of the black Stingray" world. That's a lot of responsibility for just 1 guy.
Yeah, I have mixed feeling about leaving the black Stingray world, but I've always been a sucker for a real orange, as opposed to the rusty ones GM has been dialing up until now.
Every time I look at my current car now, I'm having regrets because it's so beautiful. However, there were no doubts about staying with the non-widebody, which I vastly prefer w/ no splitters and skirts for the clean look.
As soon as your car arrives I'm sure those regrets will go away Foosh! I had a black Corvette for 9 years (my C5) but as beautiful as it looked, it was hard work to keep it that way and I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulder going with LeMans blue on my current one. But most of all, that Sebring Orange is just such a bold amazing looking color, it's not a color you're going to see too often at all either.
I'm also with you on the nice clean lines of the non widebody with no extras added. I have no plans on adding a splitter or skirts on mine.
