Sub-optimal performance...
So I've found the Z-06 to be sub-optimal in performance, specifically today returning from a conference in sunny southern California to my home UP here in northern Nevada.
Sadly, it started raining and snow was forecast on the western slope so I drove up 395 on the eastern slope, hoping the 10,000'+ mountains would act as a barrier...
Driving in snow over a 8,000'+ mountain pass in a Z-06 is quite an experience. Home safe, but that was a demanding drive indeed!

What was sub-optimal about the car?
You were driving in snow on summer max performance tires. That type of tire is downright dangerous in snow, as they are on any vehicle. You just made a really bad decision to drive in adverse conditions in a vehicle not properly equipped.

I took a Ford F350 dually to Spring Mountain raceway -- what a disappointing performer THAT was! That thing couldn't even begin to make any decent lap times. Understeering like a pig, TONS of body roll, no cornering grip at all, and could only achieve very low top speeds in the straights. Truly the F350 is a sub-optimal performer.

A great car + suboptimal driver decision = trouble!

You obviously didn't use Weather Mode. For those that haven't tried it, when you select Weather Mode press the center control button 15 times within 2 seconds and small metal spikes will pop out of the tires for increased traction in icy conditions. Works great.

OP, after you get everyone's comments on this forum, you might post your Z06 problem in the Z06 Forum. If you do, let me know, I would love to see their comments about your Sub-optimal performing Z06.

I sure hope Chevy/GM doesn't read this forum.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the OP may have been "punking" the forum and mocking the type of silly complaints often posted here.

You clearly need snow chains. Anytime I drive my C5 z in blizzard conditions I always had my snow chains on. Oh and with just some minimal cutting of the nose you can mount a plow up front too.
Oh oh and almost forgot. Toss a couple 100 lb sand bags in the back for extra traction 👍

This thread cracked me up.
OP: if you weren't yanking our chains, take a deep breath and smile at the really funny replies. If you were, mission accomplished.
To the rest of you: thanks for some great laughs. I needed that......
Now I need to go install my C7 snow tracks.............
