OK, if you are in Sport mode, all that you need do to get that display is to press the down arrow on the right side of the steering wheel until the display comes up on the dash.

Attentive readers would notice that this is pretty much what I said in post #2.

Elmer,

I really appreciate your help. I took a pic of the display you sent me and sent it to my service advisor at my dealer. Obviously he'll have it when I take the car in on Wednesday for the diagnostic check.
I'll let you know the outcome.

Thank you again.

And BTW "I tried that and it didn't work" style answers are insufficient. What did you try? What did you expect to happen? How did it fail? ... are all followup questions.
Didn't I!

Bavaria, why couldn't you elaborate on the: What exactly you tried? What did you expect to happen? And what happened instead? kind of questions?

eboggs_jkvl said "OK, if you are in Sport mode, all that you need to do get that display is to press the down arrow on the right side of the steering wheel until the display comes up on the dash".

So a logical/reasonable reply would not be "Just tried it - no luck" but rather something like this:

Well I got in my car and fired her up. Looking at the center display I see it has something called Trip A. That's not what I want to see. Hmmm... You said hit the down arrow so I did that. Oh my! The display changed! Now I see Trip B. That's not it either. Going further I saw "<X>", "<Y>" and then "<Z>" but what I did not see was the display I described to your before. What did I do wrong?".

Another helpful answer would be "Sport mode? What's that?".

Now THOSE 2 EXAMPLES would be helpful responses, one given by somebody who obviously took steps, recorded what those steps were and responded with useful data to continue problem solving.

"Just tried it - no luck" does nothing for anybody and you still have you're little problem now don't cha.

Proving once again that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him think!

Yes, I still have the problem, which has been frustrating to me and the several Chevy employees who have labored to remedy it. Hopefully it will be fixed next week.

BTW, Elmer asked for a yes or no answer, and I responded accordingly.

Now, on a somewhat positive note, your oral diarrhea has been amusing and made the situation almost humorous. Hopefully, someday, your obviously unfulfilled need for recognition will become somewhat satiated in your years following kindergarten.

I will take it to the dealer - maybe there's a fix available (reflash/TSB?). The car will be out of initial warranty in the near future, and paying to fix an electronics glitch doesn't sound desirable.
Thanks in advance for any solutions/advice.
Having read the entire thread, except for the deleted and "ingnored" people, I can only tell you to take it in and have it documented before your warranty actually runs out.

Even if the dealer cant fix it at that point, if the problem persists, you still have some recourse later.

"oral diarrhea"?!? "years following kindergarten" - crappy and unnecessarily personal attacks. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Oh moderator... A little justice please. These personal attacks of me are uncalled for and this dude should be reprimanded for insulting me.

Bavaria, post # 12 is the screen you are missing ?
On the DIC this is the screen you need to get to. If you select “ Link to Drive mode” then what ever drive mode you select on the center console mode selector is the mode or theme you will see on your DIC, ie Tour/Sport/Track.
OR
You can select one of the above to always be displayed on your DIC regardless of what you select as a drive mode from the center console selector.
Note, on the screen shot here you can see that I will ALWAYS have the “Sport” theme displayed on my DIC no matter what drive mode I select.
I suspect if you can find the screen shown above you will probably find that somehow it has Tour or something hard selected rather than Sport.
In the process of working this through in my car I also lost the Sport screen and it took a bit of time to get it back.
Here is what I did using the steering wheel controls;
*left arrow and scroll down to “Options”
*press. SEL
*right arrow until the bottom says “ Display Theme”
*scroll up or down to what you want ,in this case SEL Sport
*left arrow two times to see Options at the bottom of the list and then left arrow back up to the top to the icon that means “information” and press SEL

I may have not given you a perfectly correct description of the process but the pix of the screen I have provided is where you need to get to followed by the correct sequencing of the arrows to get your Sport theme back. I am 99% certain that your DIC is not broken and the info you are looking for is there.

767 guy,

The menu shown on my car using the left arrow doesn't contain an 'options' choice. It starts with 'info', then 'perf', then phone and audio selections, with the bottom offering being 'settings'. Maybe I can find the options setting using the center console info center.
Thank you for the help.

Like this?

To get to the sport mode, you turn the Driver Mode Control **** on the console. From left to right Weather, ECO, Tour, Sport, Track.
Elmer, that only works if in "settings" you have selected "Link to Drive mode". I suspect that when Bavaria gets to the screen that I posted he probably will find the answer. But, that is only part of the puzzle. When I tried working this issue for him I too lost the Sport theme screen like he did. I could arrow up or down and see everything else like Trip A, Trip B, etc but no "Sport" theme DIC display as in you pix even though I had selected "Sport" . The Sport theme only again displayed after I hard selected it on the Display Theme page AND then used the correct sequencing of the arrows and SEL button to go from Options back up to the information icon at the top of the list on the left side of the DIC.
As I said in my post to Bavaria, I would be very surprised if his unit is broken. That screen he is looking for is hard to find once you loose it and I have no idea what I did to loose my Sport theme diplay but after a lot of experimenting I did manage to get it back.
One part of the problem is too often at the dealerships its hard to find someone who is a true c7 expert who knows all the little nuances with these C7" computers on wheels".

Bavaria, since at my age I frequently have "helmit fires" "Sr moments"
etc I had to go back and check my car. On the left of the DIC my list is
Info icon/Perf/Audio/Phone/Nav/OPTIONS. Perhaps the difference is that mine is a 2018 and there are subtle chamges.
However, I think the bottom of the list is where you need to start in "Settings .

Are you able to get to the display screen that I posted a pix of??

767 guy,

Just tried going through all the settings again, and what I neglected to do earlier was hit the right side arrow on the steering wheel. When I did I saw the menu items you initially mentioned. I hit sport, but then found I also had to hit settings in the left side options. Voila!
Thank you again for the help - it worked!

Elmer,

Finally got what I wanted. Thank you again for the pic and your advice.
Couldn't have done it without (most) forum members' help.

Excellent !!! Now when you next go in for service you can offer to train the "experts" at the dealership on the nuances of maneuvering through the driving themes in trade for a free oil change(s)

Glad it all worked out .

Any body notice in my post the pix of my DIC showing the factory installed speedometer calibrated up to 330 ????

That's because I ordered the fastest color, Arctic White, so you get the "special speedometer" RPO option "AWS" at no extra cost.

Amazing that the service guys couldn't figure it out, so great help 767, & I learned something as well. And OP, great that you won't need warranty coverage to have this "fixed," but maybe time to think of an extended warranty if you're going to keep the car?

I found this link to the '14 DIC menu hierarchy(couldn't find a more recent edition), hope the link works and info is helpful:
