Default Steering wheel leather wrinkles

Is this normal on a brand new 2017? Should I try to get a new wheel?

Is this a serious question? If it is, the answer is it is normal

Unless it feels loose or is actually falling apart, I would say it is normal. Mine looks the same in both my Corvette and Silverado.

Thank you, I ask because I have bought new bmw M steering wheels before and they were perfect.

Some folks are seriously in need of therapy if something really natural upsets them. How would they wrap the round portion of the wheel w/o some wrinkling? I'm just amazed at "some" nitnoy things folks find to carp about. It is your car, you paid for it, so yes I do agree you can ponder anything you like, but on a forum such as this (any social media) you can expect to be questioned. Again, if I offended you, I apologize, but WOW!PS: As Billy346 said unless it is pulling loose from under trim or cut/thread not sew properly, let it go.

^^ OP asks a simple question about his new C7 and and as usual some CF members flame him. ^^
He explains his other cars leather wrapped steering wheels didn't have this and he's further told "some folks are seriously in need of therapy".
Sigh.....

I would agree, that does appear normal. If you really want to complain about something check out your fit and finish.

I'd call that normalish. Good news is that the wheels on these cars are pretty cheap and easy to replace. If it were me I'd use it as an excuse to buy a suede wheel and keep this one as a spare (I did that on the last C7).

I don't think a dealer would replace that for you, but if it bugs you it is an easy solution. Hope that helps a little

OK, so you say a smooth steering wheel points to perfection. I say the so-called "wrinkling" adds a certain amount of character and THAT points to perfection. As an example, consider naugahyde. It's an artificial vinyl product that is done by machine with a "perfect" uniform structure. Real leather has imperfections in it, and it is considered superior to 'mere plastic naugahyde.' Which is more desirable? For most people it is the real, but imperfect leather. I'd rather have the steering wheel you depicted in your pics rather than a 'perfectly smooth' wheel.

While the Corvette is better made than other cars in Chevrolet’s lineup, I wouldn’t say that it compares favorably to a BMW. BMW’s are a higher echelon in terms of quality and workmanship.

Totally normal and it’s something most people would just live with.

That is the direction I have gone in. At least the paint is good and body panels align. I am enamored with how beautiful the car is. I added the FL endless summer tag, look it up. I am looking forward to getting out of the 500 mile break-in after I get suntek put on this week.
