I find the front cameras on my 2016 invaluable for avoiding just that! I never park with them on to insure I don't bottom out my front end. I did that on my Camaro and it ripped the bumper forward ending up costing me about $3K. Won't do that again. I love the camera in my vette, both forward and rear.
one day in my c6z i was sitting in parking lot waiting for wife to get a couple of items in grocery store. all of a sudden a woman opens passenger door and gets in. she looks me at like like WTF are you doing in my husbands car? i'm like who the hell are you? her husbands car, which was lemans blue also was 2 spots over.....she was very embarrassed and apologized on her way out.....

Was she cute? (No, I didn't really type that.)
By the way my commute is between Lansing and Flint on I-69, and it is common to see small convoys of pre-production or early production new vehicles (usually four at a time) being road tested, and I saw groups of C7s when they were being developed. Pre-production vehicles often are disguised by fabric cladding, but the early production cars are undisguised, and it's fun to see multiples of a car that is rare on the road as yet.

Driving I-94 daily near the Dearborn (Ford Headquarters) exit I see lots of pre-production GT350's and GT500 Muskrats often in a row together. Best one I saw recently was (last summer) was a Ford GT in race trim followed by several race version Mustangs with a lead and follow Ford trucks on the way to downtown Detroit during the Belle Isle Grand Prix week.
Don't feel bad. I have done the same thing even with my camera on. I do have a poverty splitter and when it gets pretty chewed up, I'll just replace it with a new one.
