Default Order question

Hi Guys, I'm planning on ordering a 2019 grand sport soon and have a few questions for you experts.

I'm in NY - about how long would it take to get the car once I order it through the dealership assuming they have allocations?

To those who have ordered through a dealership, what kind of deposit did they require, or didn't they?

Thanks in advance for the help.

My car took 7 weeks from ordering to arriving at dealer.
I would think $500 would be a normal deposit. All dealers are different.

Thanks for the reply Glenn, 7 weeks is a lot faster than I expected, I guess they build vettes faster than most production cars.

it all depends on your dealer’s allocation, timing, any constraints that might exist etc. I’d contact Mike Furman at Criswell as I’m pretty sure he’s got current allocations he’s looking to fill. I’m sure some of the other big forum dealers do as well but I’ve been dealing with Mike and it’s been a great experience. My wait was a little longer due to model year switch over, I ordered end of December and have a TPW of 2/19. Probably take museum delivery mid March.

Good luck!

I placed my order with MacMulkin earlier this week. Was told by another it is usually 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.

My deposit was 2K and i was told it is not refundable once order status hits 2000.

I ordered a 2019 GS Coupe from Rick Conti with Coughlin Corvette last Saturday, no deposit required! He must trust me. Rick knows his Corvettes and is great to deal with, most stress free new car purchase I've ever experienced.

FWIW I read the Corvette Assembly plant at Bowling Green cranks out 12 Corvettes every hour.

NY is a pretty big state.
If you are upstate towards Buffalo-Syracuse, I would contact Van Bortel (no personal experience); if you are in SE NY (Albany down through Montauk), both Kerbeck and MacMulkin are close by and good to work with.
I have found the big dealers are a much better buying experience than the small local dealers.
Since orders go in every two weeks, the closer you are to an order submission (to GM) date, the shorter time will be to delivery. 6-7 weeks is typical from order acceptance by GM to delivery to a forum dealer.

Since you're in NY your order will be shipped by truck as opposed to railcar, that means a quicker shipment of your order. Any of the big three dealers, Kerbeck, MacMulkin, Criswell, will have the allocation. Just call each of them with what you want and see which ones gives you the best deal. Know exactly what it is you want and the options you want in advance. Order time will vary depending on the factory but average 6-8 weeks after your dealer submits order. The selling dealer can track your order so you can call him for an update anytime.

You may want to check Kerbecks website. They list every Corvette they have and every Corvette they have coming to them. Good chance you’d see one you like for immediate delivery. From anywhere in NY it’s an easy drive.

^^^

Or like I have from Kerbeck, they can order exactly what you want, GM delivers to them and you pick it up! I flew to Atlantic City for the first I bought from them. For the Grand Sport ordered in 15 minutes on the phone and found a small Chevy dealer some 30 miles away that accepted Courtesy Delivery for a cost of $250! They did a great job in putting on the side skirts and splitter. Let me watch and take pics inside the service bay!
