Default Ordering Question

Hi All, I ordered a GS from a local dealer this past saturday after giving them a deposit - but it turns out they haven't even ordered it yet - what reason could there be for them delaying the order like that outside of poor customer service? Just looking for possible reasons before I go in there today and overreact, lol.

They probably don’t have the ‘allocation’. Read the sticky thread above on allocation and constraints.

Tell them to enter it anyway. My dealer didn't have allocation either but entered it anyway and it got picked up by GM the next day. I have a TPW of 3/19. I'm guessing that GM did a sold order sweep that week and picked up all of the sold orders whether or not the dealers had allocation.

When supply (production capacity) exceeds demand, dealers should enter the order even if they don't have an allocation as Chevy will reassign unused allocations.

Yeah, when I gave them the deposit they said they had allocation, so either they were BS'ing me or theres some other reason I can't think of.

There are no constraints on anything other than ZR1's. So, there is no reason your dealer should not enter your order and have it accepted by Chevy. Only reason at this point is incompetence.

OK I got an order number guys and asked the Angela lady to check it out for me - thanks for the feedback (I'm just excited to get this thing going so I can get the GS by spring). If I got the number that means it was accepted by Chevy, right?

No, it just means that your dealer entered the order into the system. It is the Order Status that is critical. You are probably at 1100 right now. If your order is accepted by Chevy, it will move to 2000. See the Order Status Codes in this thread: Ordering a Corvette - Allocations and Constraints Explained
