Its a much better sound system with speakers behind head rest than in the back of the trunk on convertibles comparing my 14 to my 17 sound system much improved. 3LT and 3Lz

The coupe has a sub in the hatch. I’m wondering if anyone has upgraded this sub. 👍🏻

Look into a decent amp and a JL Audio Stealthbox.

I replaced all my speakers in my 2015 3LT along with an amp and DSP.

I put a Kicker (10" IIRC) as a direct replacement.

I would not replace just the speaker, as what is supplied is matched to the relatively low-powered OEM amp.

It's also a dual voice coil speaker.

My 2018 3LZ sounds better than what came in my 2015 3LT, though I'm not sure anything changed.

^^^ Several have commented that their ‘18s sound better than previous MY C7s. Wonder if changes were made... although I haven’t seen anything officially reported.

I just got a 2017 from a 2016 and I swear it sounds better. I did search and a guy replaced the sub with a 8” pioneer and apparently it helped.
