What I cut and pasted above was my eBAY ordering instructions. This vendor knows the C7, and knows exactly what to do. What you receive is a V-Bridle with each of the 2 legs 60" long. That puts the D-ring just behind the front lip, which is perfect for the hook-up.
He does not charge extra for the "double-length."
If I wanted the D ring about a foot in front of the front splitter would that work? I would prefer having the ring in front of the car so I can get to it easier when I have the car on the trailer.

You could always call the phone number listed in my instructions above and ask if that's your preference. I don't think it matters, because it's very easy to get to where it is, about a foot away. If it's too far in front, you may have trouble pulling the car far enough forward, depending upon the size of your trailer and winch location.
The empty receptacle is there because a tow hook is required in the EU and some other places. None of the US cars come with them. However, they are only for quickly getting a vehicle out of harms way. That doesn't mean without damage.

Tried finding this guy on EBay but no joy. Luckily Google hooked me up and pointed me to his site.

Received mine today. Ordered exactly as Foosh describes. Very heavy duty and high quality. A tremendous bargain for the price. Thanks Foosh!
You guys are out right... Just learned that the Base Model doesn't have this features. I only wanted it for looks since I plan to do a few things to the car to spice up the look.
Tow hooks installed on the front and rear bumper are a must mod for 30 or younger to say "look how cool I am I have a track car"
You should also add a windshield decal, and probably a rear window decal and 5 to 8 Deadpool stickers
Maybe even red mud flaps

Not really. my aftermarket front tow hook was $200, the rear $120.
I agree cool accessory for loading the car in the trailer...don't hand it to a corner worker though. it won't do you any good on the track.
See my post #15 this Thread. Forum Vendor ZL1 Add-Ons has a much better tow hook than the cheap looking OEM one for ~$100. They use a steel shaft that it tapered so it fits through the grill opening without rubbing. Doesn't fit the OEM recess in the foam above the battery unless you modify the foam with a knife! But when frustrated about needing a toe at least you won't rip the carpet getting too it! Fits just fine in the rear cubby! (I even bought a short, similar looking to the ZL1 cheap one ,~$15 on eBay, designed for a compact car that fits the rear receiver. Same threads; it's made from aluminum and would not use it.)
As far as the side mount, the wife's BMW X5 SUV has the receiver mounted on the side just like the Vette. Receivers are required in Europe where tow truck operators know how to use them. Folks report it pulls on a flatbed just fine. Several who used them at the Track said the same. Much quicker if in the dirt than reaching under to inset clips in the frame.
Yep I did use it at the one car show the Grand Sport went to when I first got it. It's the one and only show it will enter as my Street Rod was depressed when I put that trophy on the garge shelve with the >50 it has received! The Grand Sport could care less!
^^^
My friend with an 8 service bay shop also operates a towing service. The folks he hires will put hooks on the lower "A" arms like most! Will take interaction to get them to use anything else!

Yeah that's what I thought as you can't blame them.
Seems many if not most install these just for the visual appeal as opposed to the functional purpose. Personally, I think they look odd and take away from the good looks of the car, however to each their own.
^^^ Only used it once for a car show. That is why the Tag! It's been in my rear compartment since and hope I don't need to use it BUT it is a high quality product from a forum vendor.
At car shows you need to have something for the visitors (and judges) to see although it has nothing to do with the judging. I only brought the Grand Sport because it was new and wanted my other show participant friends to see it. I usually bring my Street Rod and did every show after that.
Had these other displays as well. It won a Trophy BUT not for the extras!
