After every black vehicle I've owned (3), is sold I swear I'll never have another one...Presently I have a black C6 Vert and love it, hard to do but I had to get used to washing only once a week as it was driving my wife crazy watching me wash it every other day. That being said whenever I'm going somewhere that will have other Vettes it gets a fresh washing!

Well, OP, that's a lot of feedback. What have you decided?

leasing? black. all day long. owning? no thanks.
Add another 4k to have car wrapped in ppf to save you sanity. paint is such a nightmare with the reflection of a mirror like black paint. unless stored in a bubble.
my black Sierra is beautiful. but swirled to death. i couldn't deal with my vette that way. too much guilt. i sold my modded Pontiac G8 which had everything you could want done including a 402 ultra light weight Stroker. because it was BLACK!!!!

Dont do it dude. In the end its your choice and if you get tired of the extremely high maintenance you can always trade it in. That is my opinion after owning 4 black vehicles. On the flip side its a sinister looking color so if thats what your looking for you won't be disappointed.

Nothing looks better than black
No other colors gets the attention like Black.
If you want easy get white.

Well if I were the OP I think more opinions need to be expressed by forum members on this topic. It’s a complex decision you know. Once this thread gets as large as the infamous “Warble” thread he then should have enough input to be able to make an informed choice. What say you?

Black is a PIA to keep clean. White is probably the easiest to take care of. If you don't wash it it just gradually changes color. Black shows every little scratch (greasy fingers with some dirt mixed in will leave a nice fingerprint on the surface that takes a lot of polishing to get off. On a white car you wipe the grease off and that is it. Scratches have to be large on a white car and miniscule on a black car to be seen.
Wash the black car in the driveway and dry it off, pull into the garage, close the door and come back the next morning and it is dirty.

Wife and I come out of the Harley world and damn near every bike you see is black. They look good but in a world of endless black bikes, you just look like every other one out there. I have always painted my scoots to stand out. Some were blue, the Roadglide I have now is pearl white. When we decided to buy a vette, we looked long and hard to find a white one and thats what we found. Now the customizing can begin and when we do go to an event full of vettes, ours will damn sure stand out in a sea of black.
