Yes, it's common, and many have gotten warranty replacements, but it will just happen again. Chevy revised the console lid cover in 2017 to keep it from wrinkling, but the door pads are all the same.

Replaced mine under warranty, but the new arm rest is doing the same.

Replaced mine in October of 2017. New one has held up much better, and I've gotten about 10k on it with no indications of the same problem.

From reading the threads in the forum I knew my '16's would do the same. But, I wanted one of those nifty ones with the "stingray" embroidered on the top. So, my old cover is in the garage in perfect shape.

It cost too darn much, but what the heck, I like it.

Thanks. That's the first I've read that GM actually changed the center console lid cover for 2017. Any detail as to what was changed? I would think better memory foam.

That looks nice, however I remember the first time I saw the Stingray logo center arm rest list cover at a Corvette show and thought the owner had accidentally cut his console lid with a knife.

I got it from Cultrag (a great forum vendor). IIRC it was approx. $250 give or take a few bucks. If your's is a 3LT it will be a bit more because of the leather.
