Does the most up to date version still kill the battery or have they fixed that?
Guys were running ALDL cables with relays and switches to work around it, but I don't want to work that hard. If they've sorted out their power supply issues and have solved it so it doesn't kill batteries, I will buy one. If they haven't, I won't.
Anyone know for sure?
May car has the latest version and sat in the garage for over a week last week because of really bad storms , had no problems starting it ( original 3 year old battery )
The manual M7 stick shift will go into V4 mode only if you select ECO mode via the **** on console. A8 should have this same feature w/o using paddle shift in M mode.
they say (read it on here from Range Cust Service) the battery drain issue is fixed even though it really was not a problem unless your car sits for weeks without driving it... I think the alarm pulls more power than the range device did..

Fixed, at least I'm perfectly satisfied it is and I'm a show me type individual whose not easily convinced on this type thing.
Yes autos run know 4 cylinder mode during certain cruise conditions , to save fuel
this switching back and forth between 8 cylinder and 4 cylinder modes caused issues with the lockup torque converter in A8 cars ..
I don't know about you I did not buy a corvette for its gas mileage and I sure as heck to not want my torque converter lookup feature to cause issues .....
AFM is not ready for prime time , just look at the problems it is causing in the other GM lines and models

So this is not a factor on manual transmission cars?
So to be a bit pedantic about it, it doesn't kill your battery any faster?
Leave a corvette or any newer car in an idle state for to long and you will come out to a dead battery …….
Like I said above , I have the latest firmware and my car has sat for 3 weeks because of work schedule and heavy storms , it kicked right over and my battery is 3 years old
