My advice is to run the other way from the Camaro. Look at resale values on a 5 or 6 year old SS Camaro, and a Corvette is two times nicer in all aspects IMO.

Reason: Typo
I've had a Camaro since 2001. They are great cars and a good competitor for the Corvette. I hear the chassis on the new Camaro is very good. I think that head to head the Corvette is better made and will be a better value in the long run. If it were my choice, I would go with the Corvette, even if you are choosing a 1LT base Corvette over a slightly higher optioned Camaro.
The only exception to this rule is if you are considering a Camaro ZL1 over a base Corvette or Z51. The ZL1 is awesome. It costs as much as a mid-trim level Stingray and is as fast as a Z06. If you're looking for "Bad" for the buck....this is the only way to go.

You're looking at about the same HP in a 3600 lb muscle car that has been modified to handle well vs a 3200 lb sports car designed from the ground up for handling and performance that also goes fast...
It is worth noting that the car magazines compare the Camaro to the Mustang and Challenger, but when doing comparisons on the 'vette they bring in Porsches, Jags and Ferraris... Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent drivers...
I also found the Camaro claustrophobic with worse (if possible) blind spots than the C7...
So I know this is a Vette forum but I am now faced with a dilemma - a 2017 Camaro 1SS 1LE (love that package) just showed up on my radar and for $16,000 less then the C7 1LT I was going to buy - same color but the SS has a lot better suspension options and it only has a 570 miles it's virtually new so what would you guys do ...?
As an owner of both a 6th gen. Camaro and C7 my advice would be not to buy a Camaro thinking it to be more practical. As stated the visibility isn't great. Although you will get used to it. The trunk on the camaro while large has a small opening. And yes there are back seats. But they are useless for anyone who isn't a small child. I would also point out that if you plan to modify i.e. centri blower the C7 is actually cheaper and easier to modify

OK folks I am not, I say again - NOT buying the Camaro after exhaustive driving I am sticking with the torch red C7 2017 A8 BRAND NEW leftover ...
Driving the Camaro I felt like I was riding around in a peanut shell that made a lot of noise ... BLAH...!!! I am 6'3 and 210 lbs and my head was rubbing the roof liner, just barely got in and out without having to have pipe cleaner legs - not for me ...

Good choice. The camaro sucks on the inside and you'll pass about 3-10 realistically on your daily drive. I saw 5 the other day on the street. They must be selling like hot cakes but that's a bad thing as far as uniqueness goes

Just pointing this out, not making assumptions. Some taller/larger folks have mentioned head clearance problems on track w/helment & seats can be a bit constrictive in the hip bolsters & back even when fully relaxed.

Hate to say this but Chevrolet dropped the ball on the Camaro gen 6 in the interior portion of this vehicle - just dreadful, dreadful...
That's an interesting opinion, because Ryan Vaughn designed both of those interiors. I'm simply saying he was responsible for both.
In fact much of the C7 team worked on the Gen 6 Camaro.
Who really cares I don't - a designer / engineer creates different platforms for different situations all the time. Just because it's the same designer means virtually nothing, as you can clearly see in the difference between the dreadful Camaro and the C7 - but thanks for your insight, it means nothing, really.

Jeeze, sorry for trying to just have conversation.
Traded my 17 Camaro vert for a 17 Stingray and never looked back. My 17 Camaro was sold used with 535 miles on it. Had it from Feb to June. It was fun but not as much fun as the corvette. You still gave to do what your heart and your brain tell you. Good luck.

Good for you for making an informed decision. Nothing against those that like the Camaro, but the ones I have driven have horrible rear visibility and some of the center stack gauges were impossible to see with my seating position.
