My lifetime pursuit of leaving the "Not Yet Vette Club" took a big step on March 19th when I finally ordered my very first Corvette. When the order process was completed, I crawled out of the shadows where I have been for almost two years and joined the Corvette Forum.
I really would like to take this time and thank everyone on this forum for all of their valuable information and insights. I always thought of myself as a car guy, but I soon realized there was an abundant amount of information that I was unaware of. I have ordered new vehicles before, but none of those compared to ordering a new Corvette. Just think about it for a minute. The amount of choices and options just blow you away. And a lot of choices are very tough decisions. I spent over a year going nay - yea on many options. And one important thing I learned was that if I was to order a new Corvette and chose the colors and options that I personally LEAST preferred, that car would still be better than anything I had ordered in my past. Its really impossible to order an ugly vette So, now with a TPW of May 7th, the wait is on and I can hardly wait. The love for a Corvette goes clear back to my childhood and I have not driven a Corvette in 16 years, so I am anxiously waiting for May to get here.
I actually thought long and hard about this, but I have decided to let everyone know about the car that I ordered when I go pick it up. In the mean time, last summer I was at Carlisle and they had a C7 cut away that I found really interesting. I'm new at this, hope the pictures make it.
^^^ Good pics. Keep them coming! Note the Forum keeps all of your pics in your file so you can just call them up, scroll through and click to put in another applicable post.
Welcome aboard!

Congratulations on your Corvette purchase. If you have the patience, ordering one equipped exactly the way you want it is definitely the way to go. And welcome to the Forum, there's a wealth of information here at your finger tips by either using search or by asking the knowledgeable members here. Be sure to share some pics when you take delivery!
Welcome to the family, and to the forum Turbo Thrust. You never forget your first. Also, don't forget to post some pictures of your new baby when it gets home. And, most importantly start practicing your best "Corvette Wave" now. You'll need it soon. Congratulations.
I guess everything has an interesting story and everyone can recall their particular circumstance when they purchased their first Corvette. Its funny, I had always wanted to purchase a used Corvette ever since I started to drive, but ended up ordering a new one. The order is kind of unique because I did not order the car locally or from the large volume Chevrolet dealerships. I ended up placing the order over the phone to the dealership from the town where I grew up. My father is a retired GM employee who will be celebrating his 88th birthday in May. Now he is aware that I have ordered the car and he is just as excited as I am. No one in my family has ever owned a Corvette before. They are aware that I have ordered it, but no one in my family knows what it looks like. Even the salesman that took the order stated he had never seen one quite like this one. I have always thrilled on the idea of being somewhat unique. Lets see just how close I can pick up the car on my dad's birthday.
