Well at least he gave you a break. Was he on the side of the road with radar or did he clock you some other way. Assume you do not have a radar detector. Good luck with the fine or plea bargain it down with a Lawyer.
no radar detector...waze told me, i saw him, he was a nice guy.
Nice guy? Ask him if you were his brother, cousin, close family friend, next door neighbor, or even another cop off duty, would he then be writing a ticket at all? I think we all know the answer to that one!
Sorry for your loss. When a Ga. speed trap trooper "caught" me running a stop sign on Jekyll Island, (literally a portable stop sign on crossbucks), at 2am, on a pitch black backcountry lane, due the detour road construction on Jekyll islands one usable road; i said what the heck and paid the fine. A month later Florida bites me on the butt and said I had to take a safe drivers course, at considerable more cost than that ticket. (no other tickets since 1985.) Wisht I had just driven up to Ga. on the court date, i'm sure the midnight stalker trooper would not have shown up for court and no point would have been assessed and reported to FL.
Just a Thought for food.
Also consider 301 from jax paralleling 95. Much slower, but can keep your sanity (and tend to speed) compared to the mad high speed dash around a phalanx of trucks to avoid slowing down to 45 when they try to pass each other on SC's two lane 95. 321 from Hardeeville will bypass both 95 and 26 and put you on 77 if that fits your destination.
