Nothing really. I do use RainX, but the bugs stick.

I haven't tried to prevent them from hitting my windshield, but I've gotten them off with hot water.

After a long road trip I usually grab some 0000 steel wool. It polishes up the glass along with getting all the crap off.

I haven't had a problem with pesky bugs on the windshield but for dried bird crap on my car I wet a piece of paper towel and leave it on the area for 5-10 minutes. When I return it is usually soft enough to remove without scratching the paint. I assume it would work for windshield bugs, too.

I hate driving on road trips with a dirty windshield. Each evening after we check into our motel, I clean the windshield, and the nose of the car, using Windex and an old cotton towel. I then apply a coat of spray detailer on the nose of the car and polish with the old cotton towel. I don't apply anything to the windshield. Just clean it when it gets even slightly dirty. Only takes a minute or two.

Every time we stop for a potty break, lunch, gas, etc, I clean the windshield with the Windex. I don't let the bugs grow old, either on the windshield or the nose of the car.

Windex? Straight on the paint? or do you have PPF? I've been a fan of Invisible Glass for the glass (vs. Windex), but use quick detailer on the paint and PPF areas for bug/crap removal. Windex straight on the paint seems a little harsh.

I use this to get bugs off my bikes: https://www.bugslide.com/
I haven't used it on the vette yet but it should work just as well.

Hydrogen Peroxide removes bugs off windshield and front of car. Won’t harm finish and is cheap. Keep in dark spray bottle out of sunlight. Spray on wipe off . Been using it for years.

For the last couple years I've been using Rain X in my washer fluid reservoir and I also keep some in a spray bottle that I use to clean all the windows.

Windex won't hurt the paint. I keep it he nose wet while I use my fingers to wipe the bugs off(thumbnail for those that refuse to let go) and them wipe the wet Windex off with the towel.

Before I leave on a trip, I wash the nose of the car with Dawn and then apply a couple of coats of Rejex.

Throw a box of Bounce dryer sheets in a zip-lock bag and use one (damp) on any bug-splattered surfaces, including windshields and front ends. I say use the zip-lock bag since I don't care for the scent so it's a preference for keeping them in the car.

Follow up with a little quick detail and a clean towel for no residue and no streaks. Learned this from years of driving and riding in the southeast, especially in love-bug season...

Not really. I don't clean the windshield if it's not dirty when we make a stop. But, if I've got some bugs on the windshield, it only takes a few minutes to clean. Anyway, I normally have plenty of time while waiting for everyone to use the restroom, etc.

I like cleaning the car each evening(not a car show car wash) at the motel, so that I start off each morning with the car halfway clean. Only takes about 15-20 minutes, to clean it up. I carry a wash bucket, a 7" tall stool(to sit on because the nose is too low to the ground for my knees) carwash, car shine, Windex, wash mitt and a half dozen old 100% cotton towels and a plastic bag to put the wet towels into until I can hang them up in the shower at the motel to dry. Only takes up a space approximately 10" X 10" in the back of my car, and the towels fit anywhere.

If the car is really dirty(like after getting caught in a rain) I already have the locations of self service car washes programed into my Garmin for each town that we will being staying the night in. Since I do my vacation road trips during the late Spring through the early Fall, usually daylight lasts late enough in the evening to use a self service car wash. I have even used a hose at many motels to wash my car.

PS-Other than a cleaning the windshield, I'm not that picky when I'm traveling in my 4 door sedan, just when I'm in the Z06.

I learned about Rejex after owning a plane.

I use it on the nose, hood & windshield on all my cars.
Very slick & makes bug removal EZ.

Superclean windshield with the popular youtube method: https://www.google.com/search?q=supe...-b-1#kpvalbx=1

For wax, I have used both Nufinish and Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Paste Car Wax with good results, although the Nufinish was harder to buff off but seemed to last longer. The Nufinish was leftover from an older car so I was just using it to get rid of it. These days I just use whatever wax I am currently using on the car. I like Meguiar's and it is cheap and easy to get from Wally World.

Nothing elaborate. I have a bra for the front end and mirrors to protect the paint. Glass will generally clean off well (less permeable vs. paint).

I would never use steel wool no matter how many zeros it has. I use warm water and some car wash soap. Once clean of bugs and bird doo doo I clay bar it and clean with Invisible Glass. Once you get a few costs of IG applied that's all you will need.
